Ahh, the great melting pot claims more for the common good. It is amazing that after all we have done there, taken through the straw’s eye view of the Poly-Left in this country that anyone from them parts would not only come here but join up to fight. Especially given the general hatred the left has for the uniformed services save the tip-staff of their favorite Press Club digs. The real shame is that there are those here, who have refused assimilation into our homogenous culture, such as it is, and actually ‘preach’ reverse racism. Giving in to that melting pot does not mean giving up your cultural identity and doing well on your own, we have plenty of examples of success most of whom are excoriated by them that ‘preach’ the hate. However, resisting what is inevitable simple keeps them in the past and more importantly, at the lower end of our social and economic scale. The blame starts with them that have the most to gain in keeping their flock in the past. The fact that there are Iraqis like that are the reason I don’t mind coming over here, and proof that, yes, they are capable of, and willing to, assume responsibility for the security of their country. There are many just like those two who stayed home and are serving alongside us in the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Police right now. They (mostly) have surpassed “not too bad” and are up to “good and getting better”.
And congrats, LTJG Tim. Was that awful quick or is time really going by that fast? I must be be getting old.
