She prefers the weather

Ecce, the inspirational tale of Malika El Aroud, widow of the man who killed Ahmed Massoud, the anti-Taliban leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan two days before 9/11, an al Qaeda propagandist, harridan and fishwife who scolds Muslim men into fighting and dying in a lost cause via the Internet. Expelled from Switzerland for running jihadist websites, she is now a resident of Brussels and collector of monthly unemployment payments from a state and civilization she loathes.

  • …Glenn Audenaert, the director of Belgium’s federal police force, in an interview. “She enjoys the protection that Belgium offers. At the same time, she is a potential threat.”…

If they feel she’s a threat, then why offer her any protection? What obligation do they have to this terrorist?

    Captain -

Even though we may agree to disagree at times, it’s posts like this, and others more inspirational, that keep me coming back for more (and provide interesting dinner conversations). Thanks very much for all that you do on this webspace.

Hard to believe that face and smile could drive a person to do harm, just saying.

  • I guess Belgium doesn’ t have any laws against “inciting….”

Whose lost civilization? Hers (such as it is) or ours?

And SSG Jeff, no, they don’t. Their protection of speech is broader than ours.

Kris, they can’t kick her out unless she commits a crime which (according to Belgian law) she has not.

The only cure seems to be to give in and that’s no cure its death by another name.

  • Wouldn’t it be nice to see her rolled up in a presian rug, dumped into the back of an unmarked 737 and kicked out of the back of a van in Jedda with no ID?

Wonder how much she would be for jee-hawd then?

  • Its true…Western Civilization died in the ovens of the concentration camps.

When a society takes pains to not offend anyone in the name of freedom, they give up their own. Its only a matter of time before they succumb completely.

    Yeah! What Nose said….

I’ll donate my time to help in any way.

  • Euro surrender-monkeys are beneath contempt.

But she’s not originally from there, right? The Swiss expelled her…what keeps the Belgians from doing the same?

Color me naive, but I just don’t get it. If they don’t want her there, then just kick her out.

Careful, she might come here and become a Obama cabinet appointee and Nobel Peace Prize winner.

be careful, i think that it is only a matter of time before we become as spineless europe. maybe their collapse will wake us up. i’m sure the majority of the population a dearborn, mi will believe this woman to be a hero.

  • hajo-hi

Obviously she is a Belgian citizen. So she is right to feel perfectly at home.

It’s worth noting that al-Masoud was killed by a suicide bomber (the explosives were loaded in a camera, the killers were allegedly a news crew come to conduct an interview). Malika’s husband killed himself.

    I can understand why.

Once-A-Marine said what I was thinking. Barring some major shift and an all out effort to eliminate this threat, it is our civilization that is going to vanish before the horde this time.

Muslim archaeologists 10 centuries from now will whisper among themselves of people that once inhabited the land before Islam. Our world and everything we believed in will be gone.

Don’t kid yourself. If the kind of radicals she supports wins, they won’t give a damn about what was left behind, except maybe to destroy it. Remember the giant statues of Buddha in Afghanistan?

Given the kind of surveillance laws they have in Europe (even in Belgium) I imagine that every hit to her website is traced. Again, be glad our enemies like the internet so much since everything one does online can be watched. Start to worry when they only transact business in person or in writing.
