From the looks of it, Lex, your moderating style is much ‘cleaner’ for lack of a better term. I can’t recall you deleting comments at any point in time. I can see the complaint of using the main page to bash a commenter. Its in the blog owner’s right, of course, but a bit distasteful.

I believe I’ve seen Lex do that before, and it certainly was in extemis. I know I’ve apologized myself for a rather mediocre reply to a troll…OK, it was the full monte flame ;)

  • trolls, hummer drivers…

    “Gentlemen, relax your sphincters!”

BE603, it’s Grumman Ironworks in general. Red-headed stepchildren, we are. ;-)

And Cap’n, even after watching the videos, I couldn’t follow all the comments. I swear, you had a more coherent conversation with your burrito.

  • I do like the 2.1.4.5.2.1.3 style of tracking comments. But thats just the AR part of me trying to get out of the small room I lock him in in my noggin.

There were some good funnies tucked in there though, do you think we take ourselves too seriously?

    I know Snake does…

Lex, I love it. But where did you get the you-tube of the Democratic National Committee session?

  • Snake Eater

Nose, I don’t think you Navy-types take yourselves too seriously…I just think you often try to out Navy each other ( e.g AR ?)…which, on ocasion, leves the outliers clue-less as to exactly what you’re all saying… but take heart… on the upside it is grist for the insatiable snark mill. Best

  • Snake,

If the out-liers are clue-less, than they are just like me! I live my whole life that way.

AR = Retentive in certain anatomical areas. AKA Type “A”.

It’s a personality trait that lots of “us” possess, some of us try very hard to overcome. (If you saw my garage right now, you would think that I have overcome it!)

Watched my first live indoor baseball game tonight. Blasphemy! (And the Yanks lost… :-(

Nose, You make my point…and here I thought “AR” was some insider Navy lingo. In my business just as in yours a lack of anal retentiveness can,and often does, come around to bite you on the a**. My garage and my office often have their challaging moments but I refuse to obsess over it …that said this Thursday will mark the 30th anniversary of my admission to the bar and I have yet to have a claim made against my E & O Insurance … so AR-ness does have a value.

Re the hapless and benighted Yankees…definitive proof that there is an all seeing, all knowing and all controlling divinity…Go Red Sox. Best

  • Snake,

You are correct about the AR keeping you alive, professionally or actually. I’ve posted the quote here before, it was my Drill Instructor, Gunnery Sergeant Jones, United States Marine Corps: “Attention to detail may safe your life some day, then again, it may not.”

As for not being sued, I am not surprised – I’m sure you are quite the barrister. Just make sure you stay away from the Gentleman from North Carolina. He made his money suing professionals…

As for the Yankees (AKA “America’s team”). You are correct about the benighted term. Benighted by winning 1 in 4 of the past 100 series will do that to you.

Are you not in the midwest somewhere?

  • Snake Eater

Nose, I am not in the midwest somewhere. Best
