Is there no riparian treaty between Iran and Iraq regarding this, such as we have with Canada and Mexico for the Great Lakes and the Colorado and Rio Grande rivers respectively?

Not that Iran gives a flying f— about treaties, I should imagine.

How far would one have to go to see or define this as an act of war?

  • Do you think that Iran would have ever voluntarily talked to Saddam? At least on anything that didn’t involve inconveniencing the Great Satan?

I can see a need here for an ROV dambuster bomb… with a long delay fuse to allow the SEALs who emplace it time to get a long ways away.

Oh, and the design would have to be interesting in order to avoid releasing the water all at once – and thus flooding out those you are trying to help.

  • Maybe an FMS case for IQAF? Some old A-10s?

Meandering through one of the scrapyards at China Lake one day, I came across a ‘Flying Torpedo’ laying in its various sub-assemblies. Novel trick, thought I, that never really saw the light of day.

Just musing but…MK46 meets Global Hawk? Set to 20′ and open a few irrigation ports.

  • Give me two hours to study the rock strata, about five pounds of C-4 and a half-hour head start back across the border. I don’t move as fast as I used to since I retired.

    Gonna grow that beard, Lex?

  • lex

The beard got shot down by the 14-year old daughter. She has immense moral authority.

So no beard, eh? When is the ponytail going to start? :)

  • Mongo

No, Lex, stay away from the ponytail. Girls love ponytails…braiding them, putting beads in them…he he he

  • Speaking as a former 14 year old daughter – who refused to kiss her dad when he grew a beard on vacation, I can only say:

    Go Kat!!! :-)

I think Global Hawk meets Mk-50 would be more like it. That shaped charge warhead would do a nice job on a dam.

The Kurds should contract with the Israelis for a little “demolition” work..

On the egress from slapping Iran a couple well placed 2000 lb’ers will get the flows back to normal…We’re talking dams here fellas, not pig boats.
