An upper-class Midshipmen instructs a Plebe from class 2012 on military bearing during Induction Day at the Naval Academy. Induction Day is the beginning of Plebe Summer, the six-week process of turning civilians into Midshipmen.
Love the glasses.

How come everyone has hair cut to the scalp except for the one in the background? What sets that person apart from the rest?
“Are you blushing maggot?!?!?”
HOLY CARP!! That 1/C was my plebe!!!!
I think this means I’m old. And I know it means I had the last real plebe summer.
I just want to know if the upperclassman is rocking the Small Craft POIC badge, or is he just Diver Tough?
Fast Nav- That’s a dive bubble on the bottom and enlisted dolphins up top.
I figured they were dolphins, just wasn’t sure about that bubble.
thanks!
BCG’s, baby, BCGs.

Is it my imagination, or is the second plebe from the left looking rather bored with the whole deal?

Hey Nose,
The plebe in the background has an innie where all the rest of the plebes in the picture have outies.
Innies have different rules, and one of them is they get to keep some hair, even as plebes.
We called them TEDs…tactical eye devices.
Nose,
I think that one might be, well, you know, a girl. They’re different from boys. Or so I am told.
/me flees and hides under his desk
Yak,
He’s not bored. He has just mastered the 1,000-yard stare at an early age. Destined for greatness…..
ah, the little squiddlies… they’re so cute and smooshable when they’re so new.
looks like an ice-cream man discoursing with the Cracker Jack dude over the relative yumminess of their desserts.
ASM/Drew, you guys are wrong. Wrong, I say. In the United States Navy, and especially in the Hallowed Halls (or Hollow Halls?) of the United States Naval Academy, women are treated in an equal manner as men. They do all the same things, pass all the same tests.
It can’t be.
Just can’t…
One of my brother’s friends is in there somewhere… Wonder how he’s doing right about now.
