Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Outstanding execution – well done
Let’s see… Oh, I know. The plate in your leg is acting up right after your checkout at the VA. That’s what would happen to me, anyway. Of course, I’d title the post “Figures…”
What do I win if I’m right?
I win. I’ll come to you to pick up the keys to my prize.
Job impairment due to sleep apnea. Too tired to post.
Gotta be airborn today, right?
Or you hitting little white ones?
Can’t see the time…but 0800 on 08/08/08?
Not bad…
Lucky.
i know the Games just started, i’m just going out for a stroll with my 300 man bodyguard.
Um… got your disability papers in just before Russia descends into madness?
I say it’s a history thing…. 18 years ago today..Saddam invaded Kuwait and the first Persian excursion got underway…No?
Damn. . .I meant to do something like this and I forgot.
Look at all those 8′s. . .
No! Crap, had to be 0808 on 08/08/08…duh.
Oooh… Humble1390 wins!
nope. 8/88/88, Ivan leaves Afghanistan.
Posted at 08:08, perchance?
I’m with SBill, I think he’s the winner.
Happy Bel-Shamharoth Day!…
As Lex notes, this is a numerologically interesting day. Particularly so in Chinese numerology, which is why Joy’s elder daughter is getting married this evening. I’ll refrain from mentioning the number, owing to its implications in Discworld numerol…
8 is a lucky number in China. Check it out – every flight number to China will have an 8 in it.
Dang it! I didn’t think to look at the time stamp. I should have caught on – I’m a few days away from rolling 222,222 miles on my car. I even set the trip odometer so it will read 222.2 miles at just the right time. Geeky, I know, but I’ll probably still take a picture of it.
8/8/o8 plus 88 days to election?
and 8 words total in the post.
SJBill ~ you counting the title too?
SCat ~ that IS geeky. Impressive though! I would have never thought to do that.
Wow, people so superstitious they’ll undergo unnecessary major surgery just so their kid will have the “right” birthday.
wow.

I think this one wins.
