I was flying a 747-400 that took a lightning strike on approach in Brazil last week.  It required a write-up in the maintenance logbook which triggered an inspection procedure to make sure all was OK.  It was.  

The aircraft is TUFF.</description>

		<description>Wow - that looked pretty frightening. I read some of the comments at the Glumbert site - not the brighest bulbs in the pack, that&#039;s for sure. But someone did say that these jets are designed to absorb that kind of thing.
