Oh yeah on the Kipling. Plaster saints they ain’t, and yep, those uniforms are starvation cheap, judging by what I’ve read of ammo and other shortages.

I write as one whose copy of Kipling’s works is so old that it actually has the Swastika on the cover. (printed in nineteen twenty-something)

Saw this a few days ago. And, yes, I know why there is the prohibition on service members.

But I wonder. . .would they even have tried this if it was found that blacks/Hispanics/muslims/etc. were found to cause more damage than the general population??

I mean, this IS the country that won’t show puppies in their ads or allow eating during Ramadan, for fear of offending tender sensibilities.

I have a feeling I’ll be flamed for this but in the interests of balance;

“Refused accom as hotel had a “treat with caution” policy following multiple incidents with soldiers from the local barracks staying there. Regardless of the individuals circumstances, it was allegedly poor behaviour on the part of members of the British Army that caused the policy to be imposed in the first place. ”

Not that it is an excuse in this case, I’ll be damned if I take some desk clerks side over a serviceman home from active duty.

So it’s company policy, eh? I’d love to be the hotel across the street — I’d make the company policy of my competition known far and wide. I’m talking billboards, radio ads, notes to all the travel agents. Heck, I might even buy ads for them in the major media:

“Welcome to the Parsimonious Arse, where company policy says we don’t serve those who serve us.”

One vote we all have is when we spend coin of the realm, and that vote happens daily rather than every four or six years.
