The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. Damn, that interview didn’t work out well did it?
That is the funniest interview I have ever heard. Amazing, loved every word of it, down to “the Democrats are the party of war!”
Mike, where you been hidin’? Not near Biden!
Cool interview! That Minnesota Gal really wanted to get Mike off the air… like NOW!
When Bill O’Reilly gets done with Obama, he needs to have Mike Gravel on his show. Either that or McCain’s ad people should write a new commercial featuring Mike.
Funny thing about Minnesota, it’s a solidly Republican state except for Minneapolis/St. Paul, which is overwhelmingly Democrat. Kind of like Illinois is with Chicago.
The wires now report Obama is courting votes in Omaha, NE, again the largest Democrat enclave in a mainly Republican state.
Seems the more urban the environs, the more the populace leans Democrat and/or liberal. The more rural, the more Republican.
Given the rules of the electoral college, the polls concerning popular vote or national trends are meaningless. But sure to be touted.

It’s beginning to look like Sarah Palin will go down in history as the acknowledged cause of Democratic Derangement Syndrome.
Since she appeared on the national scene the Dems have been slowly self destructing. Yesterday we saw Obama question John McCain’s honor. That is just patiently ridiculous. And the “You can put lipstick on a pig” comment was sure to play well with many people all across the nation.
It’s also fun to watch the media doing their best to help out The Chosen One with all the reports on how he is so strongly favored by “everyone else” all across the world. As if we really give a $hit about what Gordon Brown (or some stupid British singer) wants.
It’s still a long slog to the election, but it is starting to look like the light at the end of the tunnel for the Democrats is an oncoming train.
Marine6- we can only continue to hope that hubris will be their undoing.
YouTube has apparently pulled the video.
Seems the more urban the environs, the more the populace leans Democrat and/or liberal. The more rural, the more Republican.
Which is the genius of the Electoral College. With the Electoral College, a city can force a given state Democratic, but each city can only influence it’s own state. If we went to a straight country-wide popular vote, the cities would outvote the rural areas every time.
People don’t elect the President of the United States. States do. Someone like Sen. Obama has to be able to get at least some Electoral votes from states whose population is not dominated by large cities. Someone like Sen. McCain has to get at least some Electoral votes from states that ARE dominated by large cities.
Don’t you just love the principled liberals? (Yes, there are some…)
I didn’t know much about him, when he decided to run for President this year, but I think I do remember seeing that he supported a flat tax. I am glad that he is speaking out, in defense of another principled political leader.
