He is good. Pithy, funny, and honest to his own beliefs.

  • This dude has been at it for a while, beginning on MySpaceTV. I like the cut of his jib…

Genius indeed! Wow, that was good!

  • Idaho Joe

Wow, just Wow! Couldn’t have said how I feel any better if he’d tried. That is one together young man

    He’s the real deal.

  • Roachman

Who’s that young whipper-snapper in the Richard Pryor t shirt and the sideways hat? I like the cut of his jib.

    Ehhhhxcellent!

    Cheers to him!

That we could all be so astute…

With all the edits I can’t tell how he thinks on his feet, but his convictions are compelling.

A guest-host gig on a local afternoon radio show ought to make or break some career options for him. I think he could pull it off.

Lex, I know not from where you mined this nugget of sanity, but you sir have found GOLD.

Jay Nordingler of National Review Online had a link to this vide0 yesterday in the Corner…its apparently been around for some time…oh and by the way I agree It’s gut bustingly funny and accurate to boot. Best

  • I couldn’t agree more. This young man knows who he is and where he’s going. Cudos!

This is just more of the same “us” vs. “them” kulturkampf. I voted for Obama because I agree with his foreign policy positions, not because of cultural considerations, and still less because invisible shackles tie me to a liberal plantation. There is no plantation for either party, neither is there a monolithic liberal or conservative culture. There is only a difference in policy.

I don’t think he’s talking to “us”, Amy. I think he’s talking to African Americans, who find themselves expected to vote en bloc for the Democratic Party or else be considered Uncle Tom’s.

The party, on the other hand, finds itself in the interesting position of basically needing to win just about all the African American vote in just about every state in order to secure electoral victory. And yet takes those voters pretty much for granted, apart from the odd election year.

Is there a link to see this elsewhere ? I can’t view the embedded vid for some reason, thx.

Lex, he isn’t talking to “us”, but he’s speaking of an “us”—mentally unshackled Republicans—and a “them”—Democrats in mental thrall. I agree with the larger point that the votes of African Americans should not be taken for granted, but he’s unnecessarily hostile and divisive in advancing that argument.

Amy, you see the message but I wonder if you understand the perspective of the messenger. Think, for example, of that ex-smoker you know, or that ex-alky you know. Or perhaps that born-again person who can’t help but interject God into the discussion about what sort of salad dressing to serve.

These folks are Believers, with a capital B. They believe they’ve reached a moment of clarity, having been blinded all their lives, they wish to share that view. In another context we’d call them evangelicals, at least if we were major media. Which is kind of funny, because if you’ve found God and want to tell everybody you’re en evangelical but if you’ve found Marx or Henry Ford or Deming or name-another-leader you’re merely an advocate.

That has no effect upon the message they’re stating, nor does it negate their argument.

Happens on both sides of the electoral aisle, I wouldn’t give the us/them part of it much credence, for that is exactly how most folks see the world.
