Thanks, Hajo-hi.
I have been trying to tell them all something similar for the past few years but, it seems, to no avail.

Flit- You ought to send all those words to Bill O'Reilly for his show.

Along with y'all he also shares those characteristics like Andy Griffith in that 1960 m0vie with Patricia Neal ("Face in the Crowd"? - no time for a google check)..

Snake Eater – And a kind, thank-you for your response…. I think. Our belief in "hope springs eternal" seems to be our common bound.

Personally, I like your old adjective "peckerwood" admonishments much more than mine. But I have a failing….. I too easily fall into the pit of petty pomposity.

As for my 26-word, alphabetical insult to myself, most all of those words I had not previously known. And contrary to RetRsvMike, they are not Latin words – although they have many Latin roots.

And since nobody asked - but what the hell - here is the alphabetical word insult followed by their word definitions. (As I said, I still like "peckerwood" better, FWIW)

"apogenous, bovaristic, coprolalia, dasypygal, excerebrose, facinorous, gnathonic, hircine, ithyphallic, jumentous, kyphotic, labrose, mephitic, napiform, oligophrenial, papuliferous, quisquilian, rebarbative, saponaceous, thersitical, unguinous, ventripotent, wlatsome, xylocephalous, yirning zoophyte."

Synonyms, in the same order as above:

"impotent, conceited, obscene, hairy-buttocked, brainless, wicked, toadying, goatish, indecent, stable-smelling, hunchbacked, thick-lipped, stinking, turnip-shaped, feeble-minded, pimply, trashy, repellent, smarmy, foul-mouthed, greasy, gluttonous, loathsome, wooden-headed, whining, extremely low form of animal life."

A few of those arcane English words my be found in standard dictionaries, but not all. Certainly most software and online dictionaries are limited, and will omit more than half of the terms.

Maybe there is some word of value in there for you, Snake. Who can say?

(BTW, peckerwood still works for me, and I do squeak.)
