The Hope has his own chapter in an 8th grade textbook in Racine, Wisconsin.

The chapter in question includes an excerpt from Obama’s 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention and a portion of his 1995 autobiography.

The book was chosen by a group of teachers because of how well it meets the state’s academic standards, the Racine district said in its statement.

‘‘The choice of this selection was to provide a contemporary and multicultural figure to explore the unit on community,’’ the district said.

No word, as of yet, whether John McCain’s book “Faith of My Fathers” was chosen to provide a contemporary example of selfless service to country.

Note that nothing was said about accurate…

SSG. Jeff beat me to the “accurate” part.

I wonder if they also included “the one’s” affinity for domestic terrorists? Just, you know, to balance things out.

    Ho-Hum.

Just ANOTHER bit of evidence that our government skools have become nothing but liberal indoctrination centers.

The teachers union, and of course the educrats who infest the school hierarchy and the all-knowing education professors in the universities would insist that we sheeple are not smart enough to understand.

Home schooling. It’s not just for the kids, anymore.

Something just strikes me as odd about the teachers union. They say you need a teachers certificate to teach grade school and high school. Yet when I was in college most of my undergraduate courses were taught by grad students. Without a teaching certificate. Apparently having passed the courses themselves, they were then qualified to teach it.

Think of Lex, goes to TopGun and does well, asked to stay on as an instructor, no chit from the Fighter Mafia required.

So why is it that we think it takes some special educational background, something more than having graduated high school, to be a K-12 teacher? And who’s passing out these chits?
