Yes, they’re voicing outrage today inside the sacred sanctuary of the Temple of Objective Journalism , where the celebrants nervously fingered their rosaries rather than confront the Constitutional bonfire that was building outside.
But for eight years now, there’s been an out-of-control fire raging outside of that temple – a fire that was built upon the USA Patriot Act and Guantanamo and rendition and torture and signing statements and 16 words in a State of the Union Address. Ultimately, saving the last fabric of democracy is more important than worrying about what contrived commandments of journalism were stepped on while the blaze was finally extinguished.
I myself would call it truth-telling, and honest journalism, but now we have some who want to call it “media bias.” That’s fine with me, but understand this.
“Media bias” may have just saved America.
You can thank them after you pocket your tax cut.

No Comment–I’m too busy taking my blood pressure medicine……
This guy from the Philly Daily News would probably agree that it’s Chris Matthews “job” to make the Obama presidency succeed.
The term 4th Estate should be renamed the 5th Column. Most of it now does as good a job at disinformation, misinformation and suppression of the Truth as any totalitarian propaganda machine. Joe Goebbels would have been proud, probably is.
They are still commercial enterprises (that may “change” too). So if we don’t buy/use their products via BOYCOTT they will fail or modify their behavior (unlikely).
Mantra should be: “Not a penny”. Loss of sales by 46%(the loyal opposition)will eventually mean failure. That’s a hammer.

They may have just saved America, but the Dow dropped 400+ yesterday. Not that you’d know it from my local paper: they had a picture of a cute little kid hiding behind a Fall leaf. You had to find your way to page C10, below the fold, to find the story. Which, being provided by the AP, blamed the fall on surging unemployment. That may or may not be the case, but I suspect that it would have been reported very differently less than a week ago.
No, there’s no media bias.
“Media bias” may have just saved America.
Yup. Just ask any Vietnamese-American.
I’ve said it before in here, but it’s more true now than ever: a fourth estate that has completely abandoned it’s objectivity in favor of cheerleading is bad news for the Republic. Of course, I wouldn’t trust the self-absorbed perpetual adolescent who penned that “item” to mow my lawn, much less have a role in a functioning democracy, so there you have it.
Really glad my Dad talked me out of transferring from B-school to J-school some 23 years ago. I don’t think I could stomach that profession just now.
..and it will only get worse, i pre-dict.
(see, i just did it again)
(i got 4 more years of this and unicorn jokes)
Daveg,
I just looked at my morning paper and thought the same thing. If the DOW drops almost 1000 points, but nobody reports it, did it really drop?
Sean
Journalism is obsolete.
For journalists their bias will serve them well during the next 4 years. We just elected Hugo Chavez and Congress is controlled by his party. Any journalist that doesn’t stick to the party line will be shut done and locked up. I think the Fairness Doctrine will be pretty high on the honeymoon list of bills considered.
Now that the journalists’ “tingly feeling” has reached its apex, what more in life do they have to look forward to?
Small children and fall leaves on their front pages? Just watch, nary a “Merry Christmas” will be seen, no, allowed.
Cancel your newspaper subscription (you can read on line for free if you want local news).
Send the savings to your favorite political candidate DIRECTLY (not thru the RINO feeding RNCC/RNSC/RNC).
Or, sign up for Club for Growth recommendations. They are pretty good at seeking out solid cut-spending/ cut-taxes/ small government/ pro-growth candidates and helping them in winnable races against RINOS or tax and spend Donkeys.
Join the NRA with some of that newspaper money too!

Of course it drops, but the people who trust the media to save America again wont worry at all as the bank takes thier house and throws them out on the street to warm themeselves over a burning trashcan… or will the media put that fire out too?
