Row Back

Yeah, um. About that “change” thing. Jules discovers that they’re going to have to get back to you on that:

The White House and House and the Senate majorities aren’t enough … they don’t have the power to utterly squelch the opposition, and because life is hard, with two wars and a bad economy (insert Bush bash here), they can’t really be expected to accomplish anything. Reid, Pelosi and Dean, perhaps bitterly cognizant of their failures past, seem to be grasping at excuses for the failures to come…

Though as I look at what they aren’t actually voicing in this article, it seems to be a more pointed message. Obama’s election is not a mandate for them to actually do anything. It’s a mandate for Republicans to shut up. About abortion, gay rights, guns, affirmative action, killing jihadis, and whatever else Republicans have been squawking about. That’s an interesting kind of mandate. Mandate for an end to free speech?

Oh, well. At least we still have Hope!

Lex … so far, my long life at least, fuzzy-minded Hope doesn’t work. I prefer that we tunnel from within, starting with initiating fact-finding missions about prosecuting voter fraud. After the 2004 elections, a few ACORN violations/violators were tried and convicted. Not a lot, but some. This election has had far more successful voter fraud than 2004. I’d like to see more pursuit and trial of malefactors, for the sake of cutting down on voter fraud before our next opportunity to vote on a national political issue.

This is not disrespecting the President’s office, by the way [and not 'raaccism' either]. It’s just cleaning up the pathway to it, so Americans will get the representation they want and deserve.

  • Obama’s new COS is a graduate of the Charlie Rangel school of tax obligation avoidance.

That sounds pretty unpatrioticky t0 me.

Scott: Go back and check the recent comments. Read the one from the Cook County Assessor’s office.

I enjoy Jules writing just about as much as I do yours, Lex. Don’t you just love it: they have it now, Omerica, but they don’t know what to do with it!

As one of my Obamafied relatives said to me in an e-mail, “We have starkly different views of the world.” Jules said it well: “Gonna make the world a better place? Kumbayah, dude.”

  • jpr — “We’re in the process of updating this post with new info”.

Guess those guys need to learn how to throw it out there, then hide. Appears to be pretty good work, if you can get it.

Robert’s Rules of Order: a motion to mandate urination upon the National Colors takes precedence over a motion to make unicorns fly outta my butt..

look it up, it’s right there in print. there’s a reason that magical unicorns take time.
