And your enemies closer:
Several Obama transition advisers are strongly advocating Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) for secretary of state, a move that would create the ultimate “Team of Rivals” Cabinet, according to officials involved in the discussions.
President-elect Obama has narrowed the possibilities for secretary of state, and Clinton is among those being strongly considered, the officials said. Some even call her the favorite.
Trial balloon? PUMA sop? Maybe, but – hedging against high expectations, meagre options and the possibility of contintued economic malaise – having Mrs. Clinton on the ticket might be a good way to keep her from running a primary challenge in four years. One also gets the sense – unfairly, I admit – that herding reluctant cats to the bargaining table might end up being a forte for the junior senator from New York. It might be that one good night of her harrowing could bring peace to the Middle East, if only to get her to leave off. For God’s sake.
Could be fun watching Bubba having the intern set to himself, what HRH overseas on junkets and such.

keeping her in close would effectively preclude any future attempt by her of demonstrating distance and deniability for any mis-steps that may occur. Senators retain maneuver distance, SecState can’t.
Even if Bill is slavering at the idea of getting a chance to hit on those interns every day, I think Hillary is too smart to get into a spot where she can’t wash her hands of Obama’s kind of Democrat rule. If she’s part of the Administration, she’s partly to blame for the Administration’s inevitable mistakes. Besides, Michelle Obama hates her, and that would inevitably bleed over into her relationship with Obama, whom she doesn’t like anyway.

Noticed that Obama was meeting with McCain today to discuss “across the aisle cooperation.”
God protect us from any more of that!
McCain was acceptable as a alternate choice to Obama, but we sure don’t benefit from him cooperating in ANY way with the the liberal big spending Democrats. If he wants to become one of them, and they are over 60 already, I would nto miss him at all. Good officer, respected for his service, but his policies suck. Just not as bad as Obama’s.
Interesting times.
Hey… Hill would be better than My Guv, methinks. Rumor has it Billy-Boy is on the short list. OTOH, if Richardson becomes SecState, we’ll be rid of him. Dark cloud, silver lining.
