Do our troops really need razors and toothpaste?

If they want their favorite brands in Afghanistan, often the only way to get it is via care packages. In general, living conditions outside the main base in Afghanistan are VERY primitive and without any of the comforts of home.

The original source stands by his post. French infantry companies use numbers vice letters as their designators, so I'd have been more surprised if the translation had read Alpha or Bravo company than otherwise. Young French people - especially - tend to be much leaner than young Americans - 9 kilos, or nearly 20 pounds on average across all ages. Sadly, the original blog post has faded into digital history, but I read it in original French when it came out, and while "pussyfooting" may be an Anglicization, the French have an equivalent expression for dallying that does not directly translate - like much slang. Would you have been sold at "walk at a wolf's pace"?

Overall Impression: The article is not a Complementary piece, but a Glorification piece. It is so ‘over the top’ that is appears to have been written by a marketing or advertising person. The article also ‘slights’ French soldiers, and demonstrates a lack of real knowledge of the French personality. Nor does the ‘author’ know the mission and composition of OMLTs.

The French grow up eating Beef just like we do and are the same avg size. ?What French word translates to Pussyfooting?? None. The French honor The Flag and would not use the term “Star Spangled Banner”, nor “Battle Rattle”, “Surprised the Hell out of”. You wanted to believe this Hype, so you did.

Hahaha!! Both words, Elan and Entrepreneur ARE FRENCH WORDS that we use. Many of our military terms are French also.
