"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones
"Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra"
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche
"A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke
"Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas
"Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex
Great catch.
I still wonder why a nice person born in Hawaii, would volunteer to move to Chicago. And stay.
Nothing to see here, fools (er, folks). Just move along, now…
Sigh…
Winston Smith was unavailable for comment.
We have as much chance of getting the truth from the Obama people as New Orleans has getting snow. Some good comments from the locals.
XAB, As expected…some funny/wackey comments from the locals…my favorite… ” nagin wants chocolate snow…white snow is racist” … must be something in the Gumbo. Best
Since snow was invented by dead Nordic oppressors, all snow is racist and oppressive. Therefore, snow is not welcome among the tolerant people of Nawlins.
Seriously, I doubt Jesse Jr., AKA Candidate #5 will be named to the vacated Senate seat. I’m sure he will land on his feet.
We’re into re-writing history, did you forget? Note the very Rev. Wright’s comments this past Sunday, stating that December 7 was the day the U.S. killed 80,000 innocent Japanese.
We’re living in a world of Jay Leno’s “man-on-the-street” interviews and their truly despicable lack of knowledge of American history. Also as noted here in the past, our institutions of higher learning are graduating students with an altered version of history, preferring the anti-U.S. slant to history.
Yup… it’s the official, sanitized version of the news as we “should” know it, NOT the way it is. Where is Walter Kronkite… oh, yes… he bought into the revisionists a long time ago.
PG, what I find most laughable about the man on the street interviews is that these folks vote, they drive cars, and they breed. Lots and lots of breeding going on there.
Some of their responses are absolutely dumbfounding to hear.
You’re so right, Mongo!
When my four started to drive, I had to remind them several times that the people who sit at the back of room in class, collected their D’s and F’s, are out there… driving on the public streets.
Not that any of us have the last name of “Hawking”, but they are out there… Who do we go and see about them? I almost wish for a case of Bill Cosby’s “Polaroid Kids” for them, allowing us to not “run the squeegee” over them and then they would just fade away.
Snake:
My fondest memories as a kid were the chocolate sno-cones from Salvaggio’s on the corner of Congress and Galvez in NOLA. Beat the hell out of the yellow snow we saw ever 10 years or so.
PG – I did not hear that. And it’s a shame anyone did. That idiot was unknown to this country until Obama ran for President. Yet the media hordes are still making him news.
Yet another reason not to be too fond of our president-elect.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If you think the media worked hard to get the Obamessiah elected, wait ’til you see how hard they work to prove they were right.
