Ever wonder how the comics were going to treat the new president?

Wonder no more.

Jon Stewart has a way of pointing this things out…
However, Obama does have a good delivery. I think that’s what makes him so likeable by the masses.

  • Yeah, reality dawns. And sometimes it bites.

I am neither particularly for or against Obama (although I did get a kick out of the AMADGY) but the cult of celebrity makes me real nervous. Even my 12 year old has the insight to ask what the big deal is. She says she is glad he is President and it’s cool that he’s black, but she can’t understand the big hoopla. The front page of our newspaper today was not a front page at all, just a full page picture of Obama with the name of the newspaper in relatively small print up top. I half expected the paper to call itself the Obama Herald.

I fear many are riding full speed ahead for a big fall when they finally realize he is just a man. A good orator perhaps, but just a man. Who may or may not make a good President. Only time will tell that.

  • You make a good point Michelle. His adoring hordes have placed him on a pedestal so high that it’s almost a guarantee he will falter – early and hard. I wonder how long it will take those hordes to turn on him the first time he can’t get thru one of his endless promises.

Funny part about running with thieves is they will pick your pocket the minute you stumble or fall. To whom do you turn then? After burning bridges and all. He has a following of folks who, at times, want for the truth and may have gotten the reader’s digest version of morals and integrity. Thus diagnosed, he will not find adoring company when he fails (if he fails) at filling the pockets of those who have such high hopes of the wealth redistribution they think he promised.

And, yes, the 3rd world artwork reminiscent of Che Guevara and Castro are most troubling. It’s not a race thing. Couldn’t care less what color you skin is… but I do care if you bleed Red, White and Blue and hold individual freedom high. Can the new commander in chief even tell the difference in rank of his officers or enlisted? Doubt it. Has he even seen an Aircraft carrier in person? You say “time will tell”. Will it? Will the MSM and liberal historians and academics accurately portray his administration or will they continue to hide and protect him from accountability?

We should begin to see his “direction” within the next 15 days or so.

Hey Danger… what you said is certaintly true … but you’ve got to lighten up a bit old sport… the video is supposed to be amusing and it is , especially that cheese comment , I strongly suggest that you view it for the second time and report back with your impressions. Best

Apoligies… I’m a glass-half-empty kind of guy. I spend my time waiting for the second engine to fail… it will, you know.

Loved the video, but when I went to LiveLeak to find it, the video has been removed due to…
    “copyright infringement”. Curious???

So, I went to Wikipedia to look up “personality cult” and it says:

“A cult of personality or personality cult arises when a country’s leader uses mass media to create a heroic public image through unquestioning flattery and praise. Cults of personality are often found in dictatorships.

A cult of personality is similar to general hero worship, except that it is created specifically for political leaders. However, the term may be applied by analogy to refer to adulation of religious or non-political leaders.”

BTW, the pictures next to this definition were of … Stalin.

  • To Peter Gunn:

LiveLeak has removed it, but if you go to my post, the embedded .flv video still plays. No need to go to LL to see it. Just go here:
