Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

And a generation of Mac cripples was born!
I have been using desktop Macs for my scientific analyses since 1985.
I would have been crippled by a PC.
I don’t know why you mac guys go on and on. I read and post on your blog and I just watched you video.
I only had to wait a few minutes for one of my three anti-virus programs to finish a scan, and had a spot of trouble with my firewall – I think that was caused by an out of date driver for the special card I had to install so I could see stuff on my monitor. I bought the new monitor when I took my computer to the store to have my hard drive slicked and my XP reloaded after I got that virus. Oops, I can’t press “Submit,” my mouse just froze up, I’ll just re-start my computer. Again.
Interesting in that it was nearly canceled…

I always thought that that commercial would have been better done if the big screen had suddenly gone blue… heh
It wasn’t just the ad that was nearly cancelled, the project survived a couple assassination attempts.
I worked in the Apple// division at the time, and a couple of the Mac team had worked on earlier Apple// and /// projects with me. Got to see some early hardware prototypes.
Then Steve Jobs took over from Jef Raskin, and they just about disappeared; the released product was very different. And much better.
Lest you Mac zealots get TOO smug–
Check here . That comment about “whether” to run AV software caught my eye.
Actually, you missed the very best spoof of the Mac that I have ever seen. It is absolutely hilarious!

Ed, Thanks, made my day,
after my Vista desktop fell over in extreme heat yesterday. Cooler and funnier today though.
