I just took a look at the rankings on Blogged.com’s list of Navy blogs.
I’m a’ight coming in fourth. It’s just a little strange to be behind those folks in first.

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

As a “contributing editor” to “The Flight Deck” all I can say is keep trying. Maybe someday your blog will be as good as ours.
Nose
Do you sense that computers are now ranking blogs?
Since I’m a Flight Deck guy, can I brag on my blog about how I’m a co-blogger on the best naval blog around?
Kinda sad. The blog that you spawned is tops witout chu.
But I don’t see contributors pouring in accolades upon themselves like you get from time to time.
Oh well, “We’re #4″ has a certain ring to it.
Lex
At least yer ahead of the Navy wives!!!
It must make you proud to see your child doing so well…
Now that’s rather funny.
Only thing is, just tell me how a blog that averages only 4 or so posts a month manages to .. I’m thinking those rankings must be fixed.
It’s QUALITY and not QUANTITY Michelle my dear…
Lex,
Numero Uno in my book. Really though, behind Steeljaw?!?
Well if you click out “user” ratings Lex ties for first while the efforts of his minions exits the stage.
Tied for first, while perhaps akin to kissing your sister (in this case Steeljaw – hmm DADT?), still makes Lex in first place.
Now that should make him feel better….
Sir, “Excellence You Can Count On.”
You are #1
Blogged.com is not the only place that ranks blogs. Lex is number one in Naval Aviation at BlogShares. Or at least he will be once the list updates later today — for some reason he wasn’t listed. His blog listing currently has twice the value of Steeljaw in that system.
Having my post sit at the top is unnerving. Somebody put something else up there.
All I can say is: You was robbed! (with an apology to semi street wannabe english).
They don’t even have Bubblehead listed? Blogged has lost a lot of credibility.
Jeez – I thought we got over this kind of stuff post-adolescence. Oh, wait — fighter pilots are involved…

Ok, that has GOT to be rigged – we’re hardly postin’ over at the ‘Deck!
Yeah… I wouldn’t worry about your ranking, Cap’n. Any list of Navy blogs that omits Chap is suspect. In my book, anyhoo.
I looked at the Air Force list, just out of curiosity. Sad. Just frickin’ sad.
Merely rated “great”, Lex? Hmmm….looks like a strongly worded letter may be in order.
What Buck said. Maybe Chap is just too weird to be popular. He certainly collects weirdness on his blogroll; heck he even had mine on there when it still worked. I draw the line at his taste in music, though. If, say, he and I were in a sealed steel tube under the sea, and he got to pick the music played, well, there might be some conduct inimical to good order and discipline.
(I have long maintained that the only tool necessary for any maintenance on an electric guitar is a fire axe. Unless it’s a Kaman Ovation, of course.)
Thanks, all. I can do not-weird; it’s just boring. That and I gave up more hits to focus on the job a little more; nowadays I have a very tiny readership (read “select few”).
Don’t worry about the tunes, JTG. I don’t share in the wardroom with the uninitiated. I figured out that few senior bubbleheads like music all that much when some other guy put in a CD and the CO asks: “Who is this?” “REM.” “So it’s a new band?” “Uh, sir, they’ve been around for twenty years.”
Oh, and I recommend this banjo mute.
