Buffalo resident Muzzammil Hassan opened up a web portal in 2004 called “Bridges TV“. The outlet was designed to “help portray Muslims in a more positive light.”
From a cursory scan, the site – which “aims to foster a greater understanding among many cultures and diverse populations” – focuses a great deal of energy on such under- reported issues as the occupation of Gaza by the Evil Zionist Entity. In English!
Mr. Hassan’s wife had recently filed for divorce against the media magnate of cross-cultural understanding. So yesterday, Mr. Hassan appears to have decided that a way to foster greater understanding in the English-speaking world was to cut off her head:
Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder.
He needn’t have bothered. We already understood perfectly.
Lex, is there no end to your lack of understanding of other cultures?
Obviously, we need another government outreach program to help you quell your xenophobic ways.
Yes, Lex, merely to publicize such things shows your antipathy towards other cultures. Perhaps you should be banned–or perhaps the Fairness Doctrine should be applied to blogs such as yours so that the esteemed Mr. Hassan or his representatives may have equal time to defend his reputation and that of Islam which you have so wantonly cast odious aspersions upon.
The man is obviously innocent until trial,. The spreading of only one side of the story (never mind the minor fact his wife’s severed head ain’t be talkin’) prior to trial demonstrates obvious bad faith on your part.

I ask, why secod degree murder and not first…did he (possibly: innocent until proven guilty) hire someone else to do the job?
Seems like a harsh charge for something classified as “domestic violence”. After all, this is a well-proscribed solution to domestic discord in some cultures and (ahem) religions.
First degree would have required pre-planning, or intent to murder. He can simply say he attacked her in fit of anger, or rage, that it was not pre-meditated, etc.
If the Prosecutor can show evidence he was planning this, even if for only a short time, then the charges can be bumped up to first degree.
That I have to hear about this on this blog tells me everything I need to know about the issues I have with our culture…

Dunno why, but his website is temporarily down for maintenance. Wudda liked to see what he had to say. And his wife, but she coudn’t be reached for comment.
What I particularly like was that he was a “Prominent Orchard Park Man.” In today’s double speak, that means he’s got a pretty good chance of beating the rap.
Pity. For her. Really.

Well that sure as heck cleared up my blurred vision of those who believe in the faith of luuuuuuuv and peace and above all tolerance.
I think his outreach program to “educate” Americans about the faith and culture of Mohammad were excellently conducted. We now see and know what we have suspected this whole time: This culture will pretend to be peaceful until insulted or denied something they want… then they are willing to even violently and horribly murder their own family in the holy rage that will overtake them. ”

As I understand it, Islam allows for a wife to divorce her husband, and has since its’ inception.
So, this “dirtbag” cannot blame his religion. It is his CULTURE which is supposedly responsible for his hideous crime (just kinda anticipating what his defense attorney will claim as his defense) and everyone will of course understand the differences…so Americans will again be accused of “anti-Islamic bias,” which will give his defense attorney grounds for appeal…I really HATE being this cynical!
