"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones
"Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra"
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche
"A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke
“You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier

Get Well Soon Kris! And you don’t have to be able to walk to Blog and comment. Let’s hear from you soon.
Kris
Take care, wear the brace (if you have one) and don’t get careless. The ball can pop out of the socket if the surrounding muscles are not strong enough to hold in place. Had it happen to two relatives last year.
Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery, and a return to health. Stay away from TSA metal detectors!
Cheers.
Kris dear … take care and be careful. Prayers for your recovery are coming your way from Texas.
Love, Marianne
Good luck Kris,
I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Hang tough, kid! And work religiously on that PT.
Take care of yourself Kris. We are all wishing you a speedy recovery.
Kris:
Just keep plugging and it will all be worth it.
We expect regular progress reports!
Kris,
We know you’re on the road to recovery. It just has a few pot-holes of pain and strain for awhile before you hit the “freeway”.
Take your pain meds. My slogan has been “better living through modern chemistry” and it’s true. Do your PT faithfully and remember that “ice is your friend”.
You’ll come through this just fine! Know that we’re all praying and pulling hard for you!
Kris – hope you’re up and about very soon.
Best wishes – Brian
Kris,
It’ll hurt at first, but it gets better with practice…
We’ll light a candle for you.
Kris,
All the best Lexbabe. Get well soon. Spring WILL come to CT!

Hey there – it’s me. Truly. Not The Oracle.
First of all, better living thru modern chemistry is wonderful but makes my vision blurry Typing this is a pan – just ask The Oracle as he is holdng my laptop up for me.
I’ve had 2 P.T. sessions today – the first one was a disaster. Pain, pain, pain.
The 2nd one was much better. So much so that I actually walked from the P.T. room to my hospital rom.
Progress has already been seen.
Thank uou all SO very much for your kinds words, prayers and thoughts. I am truly blessed to have a circle of cyber-friends like you guys.
Kris, Glad this finds well and starting to come to grips with your travail… as I suggested to you in a past comment… try to focus 2/3 months down the road …recovery well underway… good weather ( please God) returns… fun and games soon to follow. Best
So glad it seems to be progressing well! Just think of how good life will be without the chronic pain…
Good thoughts coming from this direction to you!
Good news–you’re doing fine.
Better news, you will be able to do things you have not done in years.
The bad news: the worst is still ahead of you–the Rehab physical therapy.
It will be hard work and not much fun.
But every bit of effort and pain and discomfort will be rewarded a thousand fold.
Sing up for all you can get.
And sign up somebody that loves you to make you do it.
Kris, great to hear from you – keep up the hard work!
Kris: do it just like a project plan. set your milestones, record your progress…
Ha! I just knew you couldn’t stay away from that keyboard. So glad you’re doing well and once again we thank The Oracle for keeping us updated. Hang in there, Lady!
Good to see you back, Kris. Not that we actually had time to miss you yet!
Seriously, hang in there, kid. This too shall pass.
Welcome Back Kris!!!
Kris- Best wishes for a speedy recovery with as little pain as possible. Who knows, your shooting skills may even improve after this is over.
Glad to hear everything’s going well; I guess you won’t be having that wheelchair race with MAJ Harvey, then.
Well, looks like you ‘n me are in this PT thing together, eh? Not much fun, is it? Rest assured that you’re in my prayers – we’ll make it through this tough time and come out on the other side that much stronger. Believe it.
Glad you’re already up and around. Enjoy the “better living”!! Many prayers that PT and recovery amaze everyone!
Kris, Keep plugging away at the PT. Soon you will be chargeing all over the place, Best Wishes from the Badger’s Burrow. Remember, ” A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step “. This probably the only time Mao Tse-Tung will ever be quoted here.
Kris,
Glad to hear the recovery slope is positive! Good luck with PT.
Now drop and give me fifty! (In best Gunny Wittstruck voice)
