Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Glad you posted this, justa minute after hearing I’m at risk of losing my job next week.
My company feels the same way, I guess.
I just love those ‘despair’ posters. So cynical. So true. I even bought one to circulate among my work-peer group when we were having trouble with a computer system installed in France. The picture is of the Eiffel tower rising from the Paris mists. The caption is: “EFFORT. Hard work never killed anybody. But it is illegal in some places”
see: http://www.despair.com/effort.html
We kept running into that “not my job” or “outside of work hours” rules, rules against overtime. Work rules for this. Work rules for that. Eventually the company said, stuff your rules, we’re pulling out of France… and added another couple hundred to their unemployed.
And the postcard? The local manager laughed then advised I keep it put away. Not P.C. in a global company.
So. So cynical. So true. No non P.C. So hard for certain political groups in this country to understand.
Did that last comment post or not? I don’t see it but the system says it detected a duplicate post. Now I am really confused.
I guess not because this question did, but the previous comment did not. So here it is just in case:

Ok, I think I have it figured out. The rule is: don’t embed links, the comment will be marked as SPAM and Lex will have to dig it out. Sigh…….
I’m geeking out over this one…. I might have to post it on my blog too.
Geeking out indeed:
It was found on the web, I passed it along to Lex. My sense of humor is impaired of late, apparently I lack hope. I have one friend who is both conservative and a huge Star Wars fan, he will get the most out of it.
Of course, there’s the version the Chinese bought to make, you know, a casino…
A casino, eh? As in “your gambling with your life if you ship out on it” kind of risky playpen? You know, like “never buy a new car in it’s first model year until the kinks are ironed out?” Or is you talkin’ ’bout the ultimate in potential for real Mississippi-style riverboat casinos? Guess the word “casino” could fit either interpretation in this case, agree?
Lex – that is brilliant.
SJBill – Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope that things work out for the best. I’m wading through the job market again myself, though for different reasons.
JoeC: I own the same poster. Great website, that.
@VX: “B” – though anyone who hadn’t fallen off the turnip truck in the last fortnight saw it for what it was when they bought it from the

“It’ll be just like Beggar’s Canyon back home!”
Sad, but true!!
