I agree about the magazines, I use only original HK , and Ram Line mags. It does not pay to buy cheap stuff, you are right. I am a rightie, but I am told that for left handers, the ejected rounds tend to land on the top of your head.

I’d take a HK USP in .45 in a heartbeat. I seem to remember the SEALs adopted them. I liked ‘em before I heard that. The Glocks don’t fit my hand well, although the 1911 does quite well. I’ve got one, just make sure you get first rate mags because they are sensitive to the quality of the magazine.

B2, In truth re the knife…I should have modified my comment and added ” a way back in the day” …ahh…a mere 41 flippen years ago..
Back then I / most of us round eyes carried a Car -15 / a sh*t load of ammo, a 45 Cal 1911 pistol/shoulder holstered Tanker style and yes for me anyway a Gerber fighting knife strapped to my lower right leg… add to that a back pack with 4/6 qts. of water, food, poncho and on occasion… 2 to 3 M-60 Mortar rounds… and it all made for a fearsome sight indeed…the knife obviously was a last line of defense option intended for an Alamo like situation…which for me, thankfully, never occured. Best

PS, The 45 Cal 1911 is still my favorite.
