The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. I’m still pushing for the Palin-Petraeus party ticket in 2012. (And not just because of my P/P whacker snark either). There’s a ticket I could get behind and be excited about. I was in the NONE OF THE ABOVE category last election; I contributed to and voted for nominally republican McCain, but I was squinting real hard when I did it. (And his daughter’s current whining about life being unfair doesn’t make me feel sorry for him a bit)
So General, go for it!
My Lord,
She claims on her blog that she is a “progressive republican”. Just like her old man.
No wonder they don’t get the general malaise and lack of satisfaction from their erstwhile constituents. Losers.
Just so. “Chatter,” indeed.
Lex,
You will understand of course that the man was correct when he wrote:
” …but a good cigar is a smoke.”
He got so very much right. And write…
Apparently, this was a joke:

I’m with you, Joe C on the ticket for 2012. Although being an old fashioned liberated female, I might prefer Petraeus/Palin, which would give her some time at the elbow of a fine, principled, yet wily man [think Ulysses] to learn on the job.,so to speak. But she is a rare and genuine political talent, which is why the Democrats are so afraid of her they had to disgrace themselves trying to destroy her.
By the way, are the civilian pundits so ignorant that they don’t realize that serving military personnel, even Generals, can’t make political statements of intention as long as they are in service? Sheesh!
Marianne
Why, yes, Marianne, they are: Consider the big kerfuffle made of Condoleeza Rice’s “failure” to endorse McCain, while other ex-Secretaries of State endorsed Barry-O. Of course she couldn’t! But that didn’t stop the media from trying to make that a “big deal”.
Sigh. Journalists are highly skilled at being, well, just journalists. And not much else.
Sigh.
