Stand By for “Moderation”

First Barney Frank calls Justice Antonin Scalia a homophobe. Now Harry Reid calls Chief Justice John Roberts a liar:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that John Roberts misled the Senate during his confirmation hearings by pretending to be a moderate — and that the United States is now “stuck” with him as chief justice.

“Roberts didn’t tell us the truth. At least Alito told us who he was,” Reid said, referring to Samuel Alito, the second Supreme Court justice nominated by President George W. Bush. “But we’re stuck with those two young men, and we’ll try to change by having some moderates in the federal courts system as time goes on — I think that will happen.”

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is ailing, and will probably need to be replaced very soon.

Anyone sense a prepping of the battlefield?

I can’t wait to see what qualifies as a “moderate” in Harry Reid’s book.

Still. Consider the source.

Their monster is nearly complete. Nearly perfect.

    God help us all.

The dimbulb from Lighthouse demonstrates daily why this country is in the toilet. With leadership like this who needs enemies.

Yes, I’m just waiting for the Democrat version of the Reichstag fire to make things complete and give them the excuse they need to finish their nefarious work.

I’ve written a small note that fits onto a 3X5 card, explaining my feelings about those who voted for Obama. It uses adult words, and also mentions that I have taken down the license number and description of their car. I print a couple dozen up each week on my printer, and put them into my coat pocket. Every time I see a car parked with an Obama sticker, or some other such nonsense, I slip one under their windsheild wiper.

Might not do much good, but I feel better, and they get to know that someone is watching them and taking notes. Sort of counters all those Obama Youth groups out going door-to-door, eh? :)

      I didn’t know you were a man of the cloth!–doing the Lord’s work, and all… :)

        Virgil,

I thought of beginning with “Lo, I speak of arms and of the man who came of old…” but figured that’d be way outside of their liberal education.

We all do what we can. It’s more a reaction to all those folks out in Californistan who started google-mapping the addresses of Prop 8 supporters. I like to return the outrage every now and then. Keep ‘em guessing.

Besides, it picks away at their smugness, which seems to be a catholic trait amongst the whole “lightworker” lot.

        Respects,

I love it, great idea. I’m gonna start doing today, here in Waterville, ME. Lots of Obama bumper stickers ’bout town. (Still some Kerry-Edwards around too. Yeash, get a life, Move-On.)

Throughout our history the body politic has shown that it ignores stupidity until being hit in the head by the proverbial 2×4.

Well, the 2x4s have been getting bigger over time, and I fear the size of the one that will wake up the citizenry. We might not survive it.

AW1Tim … This crazy old lady approves of what you’re doing. And it makes me feel better too. I have personally resolved not to bow to my polite, mannered upbringing any more, and when some foolish person tells me how wonderful President Chuckles is, I’m going to say, “Oh, no, he isn’t. Not only has he beggared the American economy in less than three months, he is instituting rulings and mandates which will steal more of our personal freedoms every day. You will never convince me that is good for my beautiful country.”

Harry Reid is to moderate ….. as Nancy Pelosi is to intelligent leadership.

‘scuse the back-biting please. Just couldn’t resist it.

    Makes one go Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
I realize that the respect is supposed to be for the office held and not the individual holding said office. But now it has gotten to the point in the Dumbocrat caucaas where they simply go after whomever they perceive to be against them in any fashion. I seriously doubt that Chief Justice Roberts lied. It is only a lie in Harry Reid’s little pea brain. It is this mindset that is now generating the “witch-hunt” mentality of those elected or appointed to serve inside the beltway.
Personally Harry Reid isn’t good enough to shine my shoes. And I would not “pop tall” for the man.

  • Mike Myers

Ah that Harry, he’s a sharp cookie. John Roberts’ lies didn’t fool him–nosirreee! Harry voted against his confirmation.

No flies on that Nevada meadow muffin. Nope, none at all.

    What a jerk.

  • May become NSFW:

They are, quite simply “Power Whores.”

    Supposed “back room” conversation:

“You want to screw over who? What’s in it for me? OK, but it will cost you, a lot. Make the check for……”

Reminds me of the mentality of a lawyer I once knew, old “Whiplash Willy” who used to answer the phone: “Whiplash Willy, who do you wanta sue?”

Ann Althouse had a good dissection of the Frank/Scalia discussion, including the opinion Scalia wrote. If Barney Frank really is that dumb, he has no business being an elected official.

Reid. I’m glad the Justices are appointed for life.

From my view of the world, it seems the low pay scale for our Congress critters had made sure the “best and brightest” have gone elsewhere. Sort of a “intelligence-phobic” system has formed. The organization seems to actually repel wisdom and knowledge and experience.

Maybe we need a bonus structure (taxed at 90%) to get them to act more like adults.

I think part of the problem is that it’s quite difficult for anyone who is a wage earner to take enough time off to run for major public office, with no guarantee of getting your job back if you lose.

Second, you have to be willing to have your entire life’s course up to that point be torn apart in full view of the public.

Third, you have to spend a huge amount of time fund raising, with the concomitant obligations to those who gave you the money.
