Mexican Guns

Not everything you’ve heard about the provenance of weapons being used in drug violence south of our border, is, strictly speaking, true.

But don’t let that get in they way of trampling the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution.

Liberals love to use the 1st Amendment to attempt to trample the 2nd Amendment, which actually made the 1st possible…

Since when did the US modify it’s citizens rights because another country asked us to? Regardless, the claims are B-S but if our media was effecting another country, would be censor the press to ‘assist’ that country?

They can have my gun when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

    But officially, I don’t own any guns… :)

If they are getting container loads of drugs into Mexico, why not just get container loads of weapons as well. Instead, its better to come up here and buy some rifles at a gunshow? That fails the common sense test, at least to me.

    Two questions:
    1. Should I get a CCP, or does that just put me at the top of the list when it comes time for confiscation?
b . Why is ammo so hard to come by right now? Are the makers at capacity? Don’t tell me that all the ammo is going to Afghanistan and ATF. I’m no conspiracy theorist, but something’s up with that…

  • CCP or CCW is state run, not federal, so you need to look at your state politicians to answer your first question. The ammo shortage is because people are buying it up in reaction to all the trial balloons being floated pertaining to gun control or “traceable” ammunition. Pretty much all the military stuff is made at the Lake City Army Ammunition plant. Winchester, Federal, etc don’t go to military contracts, although they do supply police departments. Given most law enforcement budgets they’re not really all that big as far as consumers. Every time the dust starts to settle and availability starts getting better our idiot AG or equivilent makes some bone headed statement and everyone runs out and buys another 5 cases or so. Even reloading components for 9mm, .45 ACP, .223 and .308 are getting a little trickier to find.

I sure wish I had some of the 28,000 rounds of 7.62mm we shot up a couple weekends ago for qualification. :-)

    Obama’s Smoke Screen:

A smoke screen is a release of smoke in order to mask the movement or activity of military units.

Have you noticed how Mr. Obama’s administration instigates events that consume the media attention at times when important issues are in the works that deserve media notice and public discussion? The result is the media and public off baying after a red herring while the fox raids the hen house.

Why else would a new president pick a public fight with the lightening rod of the Right Wing of the Republican Party, Rush Limbaugh? During a period when a spending package of close to a trillion dollars was being pushed through, the focus of the media was on the war of words between the White House and Rush.

When hundreds of billions of dollars was being passed along to AIG, the media was spending all of its time and effort on a few executives and their pay. So instead of a public debate in the media on the merits of bailing out AIG, we end up persecuting men that were doing a job under difficult circumstances.

The White House has proposed a massive budget for Congress to review and approve. In the middle of the discussion, members of Mr. Obama’s government are continually bringing up the issue about controls or bans on guns and ammunition. This highly charged subject lacks votes in both Congress and the States to have any chance of passing real legislation. However, it is a subject that will dispatch the budget discussion from Page One of the news.

Mr. Obama has used his political capital, media bias and public distraction to effectively move his social agenda forward and the country to the left, farther and faster than any president in history.

check out your state on ammo regulation. There are bills out there that will “tag” the ammo to you the buyer. So when the next BoA heist occurs the cops can trace the lead back to LaDoop Dogg and his gang. Here in SC we’ve got people coming in from FL and buying 20,000 rds at a clip. 223 is flying off the shelf. If you are gonna buy an AR derivative now is the time but maybe look at one in another cal. Bushmaster makes a nice one in 308. For handgun ammo I am getting 9 mm with steel casing. Have not had one misfire in Browing HP or Taurus. And I’ve always got my Tokarov 7.62 x 25 courtesy of a dead NK officer and my Father’s good aim.
I don’t think either Obama or Holder have even read the Constitution or the amendments since law school – if then.

People are also grabbing any “Hollowpoint” ammuntion that they can get. Some manufactures only sell certain types to Law Enforcement, but lots of the dealers will sell it to civilians (its not a law that it can’t go to civies, just that companies policy). Poeple are afraid that even if lots of the Obama anti-gun changes fail, an easier one to get through is to get all the “cop killer” bullets off the street (again, it is a joke of a concept, but one that is easy to feed to John-Q public). So people are grabbing that up anywhere they can. Also because another avenue at restricting firearm rights is to not go after the weapons themselves, but the ammunition they fire. Make a crazy tax, limit ammunition sales, and it is the same thing as banning firearms.

Liberals don’t look at the facts (aka, legal firearm ownership actually reduces violent crime), just their own self-serving B/S agenda.

I have a CCW permit and carry whenever/where ever it’s legal to do so. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Besides, what is wrong with a Lawful citizen exercising his right under the Constitution to defense himself and his property?

Yeah, I’ve “thought about” “exercising” my rights by carrying an old hi standard 22 mag. derringer for years too, as well as the big stuff. They make great “parking lot guns”–you know, to get you from the late night whatever to the car in the parking-lot at 2:30 am down-town any big city USA. Certain comfort in knowing the odds of making it to the car are better than even. I DO like the 22 mag. round.

      • virgil xenophon

I should add an even better deal, and one that I used to “think about” carrying in the summer when minimal clothing is worn before concealed carry came along is that little 5-shot 22mag. NAA revolver with the 1 5/8 bbl. Like dropping your car-keys in your pocket. You know, the one w.o. the trigger guard and have to cock each time to shoot? Buddy of mine turned me onto those some 35 yrs ago. One saved his life one night coming out of a rock concert late at night in Cincy in the late 70s. Probably not accurate beyond 6′ but you ain’t needin’ a sniper rifle in those situations…

        • Actually when wearing shorts and a large T-shirt (untucked) there’s no problem carrying a 1911 and a couple of spare mags using an inside the belt rig. Don’t leave home without it. :-)

It is revealing that the mainstream media has ignored Fox’s investigative reporting, and just keep on repeating the party line “90% yadda yadda…”

Most sheeple don’t give a rat’s behind about the news anyway, and half think the stuff on Colbert Report or Jon Stewart is true, and most under 40 never read newspapers.

Thus, the public perception has been created, and will remain, that more gun laws are needed to protect the peaceable Mexicans toiling away in the tequila fields from the mayhem induced by evil Gringo guns.

Disregarding of course, the curious conundrum that violence in rampant in places with strict gun bans (e.g.- Washington DC, Mexico, Chicago) and blamed on the easy availability of guns in neighboring regions where there is dramatically less violence.

Politicians understand numbers, and the most effective number to show them is the number of members in the National Rifle Association. If you are not a member, join today (it’s only $25 per year!). Your spouse and kids should be members as well, and there are special junior and “associate” categories available at $15 and $10 respectively if you don’t want to get a regular membership for them. (click on the junior/distinguished tab to see those).

To all of you that have CCW’s, too bad not one of you was in Binghamton NY today…
It breaks my heart that we have to see this carnage repeatedly.
