It is way past thugish… It is the stifling of free speech.
I have a son that was born in
California and lived the first 12 years of his life in the state.
Does anyone mean to say that he should pay out of state tuition as opposed to illegal aliens?
If the California University system needs this to work then they should have just one cost to attend school. The very idea that a United States citizen, born in CA ,should pay more than an illegal makes me sick.

Lex, you’re obviously confused. The thugs are those right-wing wackos out protesting today. :P

As these protestors cause disruptions, break windows, and generally raise a ruckus in promoting their cause, perhaps they should consider some form of identification for themselves, builds unity in the group and that sort of thing.

    May I suggest brownshirts.

Appears my investment in semi autos and ammo will have a deterrent pay-off in a shorter time period than expected. Those same protestors will be the ones footing the bill of the Obama-nation. But when they have to make the tough choice of feeding themselves or feeding others I don’t think they will see the world thru such rose colored glasses.

Interesting. On the one hand, some people are to be denied their right to free speech. Whereas for other people, not only do they have the right to free speech, but the taxpayers are required to provide them with a venue should they not have the resources to secure their own.

I guess it all depends if you wish to express rightthink in your speech or not.

What I have yet to figure out is why the universities – those organizations that scream so loudly that it is their job to provide a place for presentation and debate of ideas regardless of how controversial they are – fail to lift a finger to preserve such debate when it is threatened in-house, as opposed to from an outside source.

This is a typical scene in the third world. I live in Buenos Aires and travel all over the region and this kind of behavior is typical. It’s sad to see “educated” people, i.e. college students, in the US have the same disrespect for opposing political discourse as Peronist or Chavista thugs do. But unlike most third world countries, we in the US have silent majority of decent and respectful citizens who value and cherish the founding principals of our nation; we need to stop being silent.
