RS McCain thanks you, but casts them back.
I really don’t understand how loopy some people get over attractive women holding disparate views from their own. For my own part, I find it quite compelling. As I do the realization that Ms. Prejean is from LaJolla. Which is not that far away at all. I pass it every day on the way to work. It’s much closer than Alaska.
But I digress.
There’s clearly some serious psycho-sexual stuff locked away in the back of these folks’ noggins. Given the primordial relationship of sex and gender roles to the psyche, it’d be interesting to see a genuine examination of whether this kind of neurosis – I will not go so far as to call it psychosis without a closer observation – has an organic genesis, or whether it’s acculturated.
If the former, it has implications to the subject’s overall concept of the theory of mind, which in turn would reveal something important about the underlying origin of all this hysteria (I suspect it’s a manifestation of extreme narcissism, although other etiologies are possible) and may lead one to make certain assumptions about the basis of their extended belief structure. If the latter, then mom was right, and you really ought to choose your friends carefully.
Olbermann of course, would be a case study all by himself.
Call him, “patient zero.”

[...] Neptunus Lex: “I really don’t understand how loopy some people get over attractive women holding disparate views from their own. For my own part, I find it quite compelling.” I’m with you, Lex, though in fairness it does depend on how loopy the opinion is. [...]
MoM was right. St. Paul was right, as well, when he said bad company corrupts good manners.
If Olbermann was patient zero, then he started a pandemic, and all liberals need to be quarantined with no ability to communicate with the outside world. Personally, I w ould say that Olbie is a much a victim of the pandemic which began when man fell to temptation in Eden. It’s all too common among man, and seems to rise independently among those who do not recognize and accept God as Lord of all.
In pageants, as in politics it’s best to give a neutral answer if you want to win. What’s sad is that speaking from conviction became an offense to so many in California and in the MSM. Perez Hilton said that if she had won, he would have gone up on stage and ripped the tiara off her head. There’s tolerance for you from the folks who preach it. He criticized Prejean for expressing her “politics and religion” but couldn’t see the contradiction when when he asked a personal question with political and religious ramifications.
Prejean added courage to her convitions. She was apologetic and careful when she answered “the question” . Yet Olbermann and many others show the exact opposite in demonstrating mean spirited and cowardly attacks. It’s “entertainment”.
Repulsive but not surprizing.
It’s the ultimate in hypocrisy. The left wants tolerance and decorum – as long as you agree with them. Present the unified front, stay on-message – and everything will OK.
The left is still apoplectic about Sarah Palin. Now that her book deal has been announced, Olbie can’t help himself – saying things like “Write a book? I didn’t know she could read a book”. Chris Matthews had similar things to say, basically calling Palin an idiot.
Guess his leg isn’t tingling anymore.
I really don’t understand how loopy some people get over anyone holding disparate views from their own. It’s as if when someone disagrees with them it somehow threatens their very sense of self. It’s a level of (im)maturity that is frankly frightening in an adult.
You should read up a little more before setting off for Alaska.
The idea of Olbie thinking himself superior to anyone is a bit much, given his demonstrated immaturity.
Skippy — that article was unreadable due to the sneer all over the page.
Scott-your Gravatars are entertaining but I can’t read the new one. Must be getting old.
Actually its very readable and the facts are verifiable. Palin is not he hope of the Republican party nor is she even a good hope for Alaska as they seem to be starting to realize.
Watch out! No one leave their bowl of Wheaties out! Skippy is around!
