"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones
"Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra"
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche
"A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke
“You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier

Four out of 20 corrupt congressmen from California, eh? No wonder we have a financial crisis!
Question, Based on performance, we either paid them too much or not enough, which is it?
The bigger problem is depending on where and when you served makes a difference. The things we witnessed, as in a, “Court of Law”, witnessed, it is important, to just let it go, or it will consume you. But, rest assured, there is a final day of reckoning and many will be surprised by the final outcome.
I hate to disparage the fine work done at CREW’s site but in their zest to be “fair and balanced” they left off the following: Chriss Dodd, Barney Frank, Barbra Boxer, Diane Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi (sorry they are all Dem’s but bent just the same). They maybe need to make it the Top 30 most corrupt members of congress, I am sure with a little more digging they can find 5 more to round up the list.
BT: Jimmy T sends.
The list is heavily weighted toward Republicans. Mollohan of West Virginia, a “D,” is called the most corrupt, but they need to take a much harder look. Corruption is not just financial. The truly corrupt ignore the constitution, thereby destroying the rule of law. As a consequence, almost all of Congress belongs on the list, as does the President, and much of the judiciary.
Frankly, FEDGOV is totally corrupted and beyond help. I can’t see the problem ever being solved. CREW’s outlook is much too myopic.
Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL) happens to be my congressman. I’m not particularly thrilled about him. But I’ve been living here in the Chicago area for 40 years, and if these guys think that Dan Lipinski is the most corrupt congressman in Illinois I can’t see bothering to take anything on that site seriously.
