Saw them interviewed on the news earlier. One of the “brighter” ones mentioned that they dropped it on cement. Darwin at work…

Well Heh-yell, ya gotta admit it would look purty durned sexy over the mantle. How many of y’all have got some expended ordee-nence ugh orduh-nance ugh orda-DUNCE hanging about?

Probably better than dragging up the lost nuca-lure bomb offa savannah.

Not exactly “expended” but we do have four HARM nose cones (minus the splodey bits of course) holding up a table in the basement. Dad acquired them as souvenirs from his days at Texas Instruments. Missiles + random oval of glass = coffee table when you’re short on cash.

Must have come off a F/A-18 wingtip station, Midway Magic style.

Of course, our intrepid Fighter Attack Guys lost a HARM, too, so be on the lookout for that one.

  • I will see if I can track it down but the local radio station said he found another, but threw it back because it was beeping!

  • After 20 years diving wrecks / caverns / caves, all I have to show for it is plate shards and antique bottles. I’d love to have a missile for the collection! (without the boomy material).
For those who have made the journey to Truk lagoon, WWII ships , planes and ordinance are some of the diving attractions. Artifacts are protected by law and most folks avoid poking at things that might react badly.
