    Sorry, Dear. ;-)

  • Flugelman

Bet she reads yer blog, tho…

  • ManlyDad

You spoke (wrote) highly of the individuals in your group. You retracting that now? Standard for evaluating changed?

    :)

I used to escort DVs on CORAL SEA. Best we ever did was Barbara Mandrell.

Chaps, back in the stone age, I was a BN in a A-3 squadron at Whidbey Island, WA. One of our pilots was a guy named Ken Dudney. His wife was a firecracter singer and musician named Barbara. We all knew her as Barbara Dudney. When Ken announced that he would leave the navy and try to get his wife’s musical career going, we all laughed and wondered how they would survive. Barbara Dudney set out under her maiden name with Ken as her drummer and manager. Her stage name: Barbera Mandrell. Just goes to show you what we knew.

Don’t forget. Before she was a DV, Barbara Mandrell was a Navy spouse (and her husband was a naval aviator).

  • Well you could always invite here to take an dogfight flight with ‘ya? Or get yer TW endorsement and give her an aerobatic ride in the SNJ….

  • I admit it – I’ve got a girl-crush on Sarah Palin. There, I said it!

  • Potosi Joel

You are lucky you aren’t on that one.
Think how much less tension at the homecoming from the one you were on than from one the Governor would have been on.

I can’t even watch Meet the Press if she is on. (My house has a married woman in charge.)

Too bad it wasn’t an overnight embark.

6:39 AM 22 JUN. Todd and I head to USS Stennis Aircraft Carrier today, driving to Elmendorf now.

5:41:PM 22 JUN. Left USS Stennis w overwhelming pride for US Military… in AK for Northern Edge training bc of our vast land, waters, strategic location.

Glad she enjoyed herself, and I’m sure most aboard enjoyed having her aboard.

I wonder how the fever swamp blogs will treat this?

  • Lex, Has having seen this DV up close twice last fall, you have missed a lot!

Sometimes it pays to live in the Buckeye State!

Damn, I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating, I wish EVERY taxpayer could spend a day on a carrier watching flight ops, engeneering, CVIC, etc. It would make them feel like their money is well spent. And it is.

I’m with Kris on this one. I’ve got a crush on Sarah, too. The intent way she is listening to that young man explain technological details is a giveaway. She’ll probably remember most of what he’s telling her. That’s one exceedingly bright woman, as well as a compassionate one.

The happiness and closeness of her family is another giveaway. It’s so real it jumps out of the photos I’ve seen of them. She is one politician I thoroughly approve of. More power to her.

Me too (well, a guy crush, not a girl crush :) )

The only National Politician that I went to see was Ms. Sarah when she was in Raleigh last year. Did not get in the event; overflow crowd.

Irritating that the Republicans are so dismissive of her, oh, in a nice way, but dismissive. They would welcome her support, but say that she is not quite “ready for prime time”. As though the current cast of characters are.

IMO Sarah is real, down to earth, smart and someone I trust. I think that part of the reason the pols do not like her is that they know they cannot “handle” her. Would love to have seen the ticket flipped with her being #1 and McCain #2 (or not even on the ticket as I am not a fan of the politician McCain).

Palin or BHO? Lord, not even time for a synapse to activate for that choice to be made.

She has my support if she decides to run for President.

  • Edward

I hope very much that Sarah Palin will achieve national office. She is a rare treasure.
And I agree with xairboss—I certainly would jump at the chance to spend a day on a CVN and meet those young men and women who breath life into the dragon.

I want to propose a bumpersticker for 2012…

    “IT’S GOT TO BE SARAH
    …or I stay home.”

  • JR

She probably knows more about what all that machinery is and how it works than 90% of the guys on the boat now. We used to find unending humor in hearing the many and varied explanations given to guests as to what all that steel accomplished. A dampening system for the motion of the ship was a popular one.

  • P-3W

    Go, Sarah, Go!

First time I ever wanted a bumper sticker on my car and that’s the one I wanted. The locals didn’t have any national stickers at the local fair last year, and I’m too cheap to pay for it, so I never got one.

  • Lol. The sighs of unrequited adolescent love…..

Or just a really big crush on a cutie pie who has the strength of ten Republican male politicians? Beowulf in a skirt?

I don’t give two squirts for a single male Republican politician today. Sarah has more backbone and guts than anyone I recognize on the stage today. Certainly more than any Dhimmicrat in Congress, or his Nibs.

And that is enough for me……… and several million other conservative males between the 45th and 30th parallels in the Northern Hemisphere on the North American continent.

Mrs. Palin, Please do us all the large favor of taking the job of first female President of these United States….. Then kick some ass and take some names of bad world actors who desperately need a comeuppance.

    • Beowulf in a skirt?

Keeper! I saw her speech to the AK trropers in Bosnia. She is one class act, and i agree..the strength of 10 men Rs. Wouldn’t it be delicious irony if the best stand up leader we get in the modern ear is her, the Republican mom out of a little town?

Once more, isn’t that what the entire feminist movement said the wanted for all women? Except..the R part…

      • virgil xenophon

Beowulf in a skirt, Part III: “Except for the ‘R’ part.”

Right about that, the Donkeys and lefties in general would be gizzing all over themselves in praise of their down-to-earth mother warrior who uses a shotgun reflexively with the dexterity that John “I served in Vietnam” whats-his-name-who-ran-for-President could only dream about. If a Dem, she would be seen as the “patriot/pro-defense killer” that they THOUGHT they had in Carey.

My wife, who is a multi-degreed professional, exceedingly strong-willed (much to my chagrin, all this old-school sexist pig ever wanted was a pliable party girl :) ) and not exactly a shrinking violet personality-wise on or off the job, (A-type all the way) said of her the first time she saw a profile of her background and heard her speak: “My kind of woman!!”

  • Bill K.

Maggie Thatcher the Second? Surely not the eye candy, for such men of honor as haunt this establishment!
