Tiny reed switches and magnets (Proximity switches, Cessna calls them), really crap gears, and HOPE! Having repaired them and flown them, I'll never retract that gear again. There's no telling when they might be "Down and Locked" the next time. The cardinal could use some more power, and better gear, but they are a fun airplane. Too many failure points for the main-gear.
