"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones
"Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra"
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche
"A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke
“You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier

Someone wanted to know where ‘Melbourne’ was earlier – I guess we know now. Early days on the facts of it all though. Several cells of miscreants have been uncovered since 9/11 in Sydney/Melbourne.

I guess we better put in a call to the Commissioner’s office and have Miss Helfinger get in touch with the Great White Winged Warrior–sounds like a job for Chicken Man for sure…as long as they make the arrests on weekends…
VX, ‘Cman’ is ‘well-suited’ – but conspicuous.
Hell fire and brimstone. We got ‘em in Oz, we got ‘em in North Carolina, we even got ‘em in Lackawanna. But we have been assured by the local mufti that our neighborhood mosque is a center of culture, of community, and celebration of religious diversity. I am sure that these Aussie jihadi-wannabes were also all upstanding citizens in their community and their neighbors are shocked shocked to learn it “could happen in our neighborhood”. Turn our backs, think it can’t happen here, think that someone is watching and we will be like lambs led to slaughter.
Makes me want to update that Mr Roberts tune: “who are the people in your neighborhood, your neighborhood, in your neigh-bor-hood. Why there’s Mr. Ali-Hassan who is a jihadist and will slit your non-muslim throat”
I guess it’s a sign of the times that I’m no longer surprised by reports like this…

And that’s the really sad, pathetic, sickening part.
Oz? That’s a surprise? How about in Minneapolis and other places in the U.S.? Just more examples of how ineffective singing Kumbayah is as a foreign policy. Why do we bring them here in droves?
Larry Auster is correct, we can’t let ‘em in anymore. And if those already here misbehave, we send ‘em back from whence they came.
The enemy is Islam. It’s part of the religion, alas, and can’t be separated. The “peaceful” ones will support the jihadis when asked, and some of their offspring listen to the radicals and join in as youth tends to be rather hotheaded in the first place and are fairly easily molded. They are a cancer and must be watched carefully.
I’m just impressed they had the stones to target an army base instead of a hotel or railway station. Say what you will, we do seem to breed bravery into our nationals. Really can’t see that ending well for them, though; heh.
