Glenn, My Dad and Deke Bordone made the delivery flight of the very first TC-4 from Grumman to Oceana (VA-42). In fact, he flew every TC-4C in the fleet at least once.

Glen,
I remember Rosemary. Conatser was her married name…don’t remember her maiden name, but she was one of the first female flight students when I was instructing. Don’t think I flew with her, but I did fly with Lynn Spruill, who later flew C-130′s and Mary Lou Jorgenson (Steele?) who somehow got into A-4′s.
The first group weren’t a true test of the program, since they all had pilots liscenses when they came in.
I had Lynn on an acro flight one day, and when she called the tower for entry, she said “Navy Corpus Tower, this is Heartbreak 745 over the high bridge for entry”. The swuadron call sign was Heartless, not Heartbreak, so you can imagine the comments from everybody on the frequency.
