Never Mind

A group of Apache pilots watch Afghan muj emplace an IED to target coalition forces there. It would have been a relatively straightforward opportunity to reduce the threat by fire, but for one complication: There is a child in the vicinity.

Their evident forbearance bears fruit in fate’s intervention.

It’s good to be the good guys.

I wonder how often that happens? I’m glad the kid got outta the way, perhaps that’s one hot stove he never has to touch again.

  • Yeah, what fun. I saw this a couple of days ago. It’s nice to see God er, ah Allah working on our side for a change. Could surely use more of his help. Does anyone know that the “429” is that the crew references numerous times? Is this permission from higher authority to actually engage the enemy?

    BT: JimmyT sends.

Allah, the most compassionate and merciful, has quite a good sense of humor.

Wow, this “premature” is much worse than that other premature thing. Isn’t it, Virgil?

If I were teaching a course on morality, I would show this clip and freeze it just prior to detonation and ask my students, “So, are we justified in targeting these men?” “What if they are just filling a pothole in the road?” I think it would make for some lively discussion. And of course at the bell I would show the last 5 seconds.

Achmed I told you the blue wire. The blue………….

Boy, I sure am glad that the child did not get killed. This way he can help others with future road projects…and maybe, given time, a little luck and a steady hand, he too can become a member of the road crew.
