Very much a shame that Mr. Burns is closing out his career. In an interview I had watched (CSPAN?) John said that he reluctantly accepted posting to London, knowing that he really was no longer physically up to the “hardship” postings that he had been on for decades.
One of the very few things that I like about the NYT is Mr. Burns.
Exceptionally knowledgeable about the Middle East, a pleasure to listen to.
