    I don’t know what others here might add of value, but everyone should go to “Samizidata” first and read the post by Brian Micklethwait and some 58 comments on just this subject that began on the 5th and continues thru today. They pretty much cover the waterfront on this with some really excellent, excellently argued posts. It really behooves everyone to read the original post and ALL comments–they are THAT thoughtful. (and include comments by some many here know well, like the Llama Butchers, Kim du Toit, etc. ) Go see@

    Creepy creepy? I’ll settle for moral pond scum. His idea that in Hollywood 13 year old girls aren’t “13 year old girls” but are rather denizens of a target rich environment for 44 year old lechers says more about Shales than he might care to admit. 100 years ago in almost any Southern small town, Messrs. Polanski and Shales would have been taken into the courthouse square for a public horsewhipping.

    He knew she was young enough that he needed her mother’s permission to take photos of her. I wonder what kind of mother would sign permission for this creep to take semi-nude pictures of her 13 year-old daughter, anyway.
