It doesn't matter what they try to force through.
Nov. 2010 is going to remove all doubt what the public thinks.

There are really 5 different bills, 2 in the Senate, 3 in the House, some have a public option some do not. First each chamber must combine (or drop) the bills it has. Then they must vote to pass one of them before the two chambers can combine them and add whatever in conference. Given that several of the bills are not much more than an outline, claims either way as to what they contain or don't are probably factual. The President will continue to slam the Republicans about not supporting anything but he is just trying to cover for those in his own party who are not buying into the hype. Fortunately there are many middle of the road D congressman (mostly from conservative districts) who know for a fact they will lose thier offices if this thing passes.

Biden has admitted in public that they must act fast because they will lose many D congressamn from conservative district on 2010. After that point they will not be able to enact anything controversial or sweeping without it being a good bill that both sides support.

David,
Sounds to me like you just made the argument against anthropogenic induced climate change as well.

And the bill is now up to 1500 pages.

Kind of reminds me of what happened to the Ptolemaic theory (that the earth is the center of the universe) as evidence kept accumulating against it. They could still make the astronomical calculations work as long as they kept adding more and more complex movement patterns ("epicycles") for the various heavenly bodies.

When too many epicycles need to get added to something, the odds are it wasn't properly thought out in the first place.

I heard the actual question asked that got the positive response on the public option and to tag the results as signifying any great shift in support for it was misleading at best. Wish I could recall the actual wording now.

This is a hell of a mess. The blatant bullshit maneuver to shift the cost of the not implementing the medicare reimbursement rates to Doctors (always planned but never implemented) from the actual health care legislation so that the health care bill scores as deficit neutral (while adding to the deficit by separate legislation keeping the Docs rates the same) is just the kind of budget dishonesty that has us where we are today. They can't get there from here and everyone paying attention knows it. So they will fudge, lie, and do whatever it takes to get their way leading us ever closer to ruin. It will end badly. Just what the outcome is exactly remains to be seen.

And Fox will keep trying to report the truth. I wonder is the rest of the media joins in the charade fearing for access to their chosen messiah.
