1938

Last Tuesday’s elections were either a huge turning point in the national zeitgeist, or meaningless local elections hinging upon local issues and personality. Depending upon your point of view, of course.

What isn’t really debatable is that in real terms, not much will have changed at the national level, nor really much in Virginia and New Jersey. What will be really interesting is what happens in 2010.

Which, if Investor’s Business Daily is to be believed, might end up looking a lot like 1938.

History/tragedy/farce.

When I first saw the headline, I thought of Poland and the little German corporal, not FDR and economics.

We have every reason to be concerned about both scenarios repeating themselves…..badly.

What Robert said. I was thinking of another 1938, in a world then far, far away. All I have are stories from preceding generations to know that time, but they’re stories I wouldn’t want to tell someday of my own generation…how we gave it all away and suffered for it.

    Fight’s still on, baby!

  • But, but, but… Roosevelt saved the economy, didn’t he!?

Next thing I know, yer gonna tell me there’s no Santa, either…
