Joe Klein goes digging for the cui bono aspect of the Killeen massacre. Charles Krauthammer calls him on it.

Such a world.

You know, those searching for a psychological diagnosis for Hasan’s murder spree are missing the forest for the shrub: Violent extremism in the name of faith in a loving, compassionate god is definitionally insane. It can be a singular diagnosis like in Hasan’s case, or a group psychosis like that manifested by al Qaeda, or Hamas for that matter. In each case it manifests itself in narcissism matrixed with an aggrieved sense of victimhood, and its tactics – bloody and tragic – nevertheless tend against the interests of the psychotics.

Not to mention those in whose name they fight, whose faith they smear and whose blood they disproportionately spill.

  • The whole people of “Allah is benevolent, Allah is merciful” is not because they actually believe that Allah is merciful and benevolent. It’s the same kind of thing we see in the praise of “the fair folk” of a more northern mythology. You praise them as “fair” (beautiful) so they don’t harm you. In Islam, it is a duty to praise Allah. The Quran says that the purpose mankind and the djin were created for, is to glorify Allah, to praise him and worship him. Very little loving compassion there.

I wrote about my take on it over here.

Oh, but don’t you see? People like Joe Klein as SO much more evolved than we “great unwashed.” They can see past the supposedly obvious and see critical nuances that escape we mere mortals.

  • I’m a Jew?

That’s really gonna screw up my Christmas plans this year, Mr. Klein.

The US left lives amongst religious folk they cannot believe in, let alone understand. It is twice as unlikely for them to believe in or understand the motives religious folk whose cultural is centered thousands of miles away.

Well, I for one am willing to admit that my initial impressions were wrong. Way wrong. The only diagnoses the man should have slapped on him are f**cktard personality disorder and/or bat shit crazy personality disorder. With a healthy side of uber religious dickwad. The prescription for him should be a slow, painful trip to hell. Do not go to heaven, do not collect any virgins.

Just do me a favor and don’t tell my husband that I admitted to being wrong. He’ll expect it, too.
