Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

The EU should test it out for the first 15 oe 20 years. If it works, then after that we can join in.
Well WONDERFUL WON WHO WON will drool all over himself wanting to get us to sign up for that. Figures at least a couple more Nobel prizes if he gets us to signed up. I think if the Senate ever ratifies us onto this deal I’ll run for Governor of Texas on the Secessionist Party Ticket.
T6 Flyer … I hope that Texas isn’t going to have to secede. But we can if we need to. Actually, to be realistic, I don’t think the Senate will dare to ratify a deal like this, not with the extent of the Climategate scandal, and the fact that next year they will be under the gun on Midterm elections. Not to mention the rising tide of anger in the populace in general about the recession. But if you want to run for Governor of Texas, come on down and do it, friend. We just had a new candidate emerge from the wilderness of Dallas, I think it is. Farouk Shami, the ‘hair care millionaire,’ an immigrant from the Mid East who now lives in Houston and thinks it would be just marvy to be governor of Texas. He doesn’t carry a six gun strapped to his hip. More like a hair dryer.
Texas politics are always exciting.
Marianne
Marianne, wanted to say congrats on your record setting weather day down Houston way! Couldn’t have made Gore happy, ‘cept he already has his money so what the heck.
In a discussion the other day with friends, opinions were offered (we like to do that a lot) about which state would secede, or at least make a real issue about States Rights, should the need arise. I couldn’t decide between Texas & South Carolina.
Regards,
Any time you have to use a modifier to “justice”, be it “social” or environmental or whatnot, you are going away from justice and toward tyranny.
Good grief! Our kids and their kids will be paying forever if those who govern us can sell this and get it ratified by the Senate. It would be almost fitting if approved, that the very people who voted TheOne in would have to pay the tab, except that it would be just so plain wrong!
Wars have been started over less than this! It seems like it’s set up to be a giant system of payback. No wonder when TheOne said he wouldn’t support reparrations… it wouldn’t hold a candle to what he really has in mind for our country to pay! Tyranny, indeed, Brad; they must hate us more than we can even imagine.
Well, the Aussies have already stared into the abyss and stepped back from the rim–so there’s hope.
God Bless ‘em
Most Aussies I’ve met seem to have their heads on halfway straight, at least a hair on their chest, and usually a backbone made of something stronger than rubber.
Best allies we have right now. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Brits. I have been to a Maple Flag and will say the best and brightest Canadians are in their armed forces. But if ever I was fighting on the ground for some reason with a coalition partner, give me the Aussie ten times out of ten.
Seems to me that the UN is a Home-Owners Association on a global scale, without the incentive of being invested in the wealth that is property ownership. In other words, they’ve no skin in the game and will not suffer from their own foolishness.
We ought to sign this thing then ignore it — we can put a couple thousand lawyers back to work and filling those tax coffers, and we can stifle the UN in paperwork so their agenda stops.
Win-win if you ask me.

Gosh. Darn.
What to do about an entire political class of people who’s unalterable hardcore probably represents about 30% of the population and that seems to successfully dupe at least 21% of the others around half the time? A class that dresses up flat out “legal” (as in using the monopoly on force of the government) plunder and rapine pillage as the friggin work of saints. The difference between them and the Mob is the Mob admits that they’re robbing you to your face and doesn’t pretend it’s for some higher cause. And at least they have the freaking initiative to do it themselves and not bring in the taxman and public assembly on the deal to do their dirty work for them. I’d rather be shaken down by John Gotti so it’d at least be more or less universally recognized I’m getting reamed by an a-hole than to have to surrender a single sweat-earned dime to these f’ers while they lecture me from the ivory tower to the applause of hippies, students, intellectuals, actors and journalists.
Frederic Bastiat, where are you?
I am at a public Library on a (supposedly)unfiltered computer yet when I click the link all I get is:
The site you have chosen has been categorized as: Hate Speech
Can anyone give me a synopsis?
1984, see Huxley
Not sure this will get around it, CG, but give it a whirl: Copenhagen
PS The bounce may be due to some of the commentary triggering a filter; f-bombs and such…
