Revisionist history, indeed! He assumes Bubba on the street will forget how his side excoriated Bush! The Wunwhowon is either very stupid, or very arrogant and, perhaps, both.

A strange thing happened when I posted the above. When I submitted the comment, I got the “duplicate post detected” message when I clicked only once on the submit button. Anyone else had this happen?

      • You just had the DTs – must have caught them from Vx…

        • xairboss

OldT6, you still trying to get even with VX for LSU’s thumping of the Hokies a few years ago?

          • Ouch. Yeah the Hokies seemed like good food for some hungry Tigers that time. I love my Hokies but they haven’t quite got to the level of the SEC yet. Let’s see, Alabama killed Tech this year. The Hokies beat Texas the last time they played (’96 Sugar Bowl IIRC), so therefore I say “Roll ‘Tide”.

I’m not trying to get back at Vx. I’m just trying to get him to sahre more of that high fallutin’ Run he keeps talking about….

          • xairboss

T6, I’m with you. We should all meet in NO and have VX introduce us to that high falutin rum he drinks. On the other hand, I’ll drink any thing so long as VX is buying.

Don’t need to double tap EVERYTHING you know. Sometimes one shot is enough.

      “…perhaps, both.”

How insightful, how observant you are, QM! :)

That guy is a piece of work, isn’t he? GOT to resurrect the term “snake-oil salesman” to fully capture his true essence. “A smile and a shoe-shine” as they used to say…. But a “low pressure” charlatan–the perfect low-pressure demeanor/personality (however artfully contrived–for which there is considerable evidence) for TV which, after all, is known as a “cool” medium. The man and the medium are truly met…our only saving grace is his overexposure and the public’s ” emergency fatigue” (in the same way people have moved on from Katrina due to “compassion fatigue” although N.O. is still truly suffering) and his overreaching fellow true-believers.

When the world doesn’t come to an end the next day people are increasingly less willing to fork over mucho dinero and control over their lives to chicken-littles’ asking for both at ever higher decibel levels. For end-of-the-worlders time is of the essence. Hence the doubling-down of Harry Reid and crowd in pushing/ramming “health-care” (so called) legislation blindly forward and the AGW crowd in predicting increasingly dire events as each revelation about the East Anglia crowd at Norwich and their minions world-wide is made public.

Like the AGW crowd, Obama & Co have to reassure the world with soothing tones and obfuscation before the wind of facts & reality blows the curtain aside to reveal the usual totalitarian suspects playing fast and loose with the lot–history, science, the truth–you name it–all in the name of statist power and control for the politicians and oodles of money for their banker, Wall Street financiers and industrial inside-the-belt-way-playing sycophants.

        “A smile and a shoe-shine”

Do you have the slightest idea how racist that sounds?

By the way, you really should share some of your Barbencourt with T6. He’s still mighty low about that thumping the Old War Skool gave VATech a few back. It’s the least you can do.

A bit more revisionism. Or maybe his rose coloured glasses are too tight:

President Obama told Oprah Winfrey on Sunday night that he gives himself a good “solid B-plus” for his first 11 months in office. Pop the top to let us know how you rate him.
Obama says his administration has gotten the economy on track, wound down the Iraq war and made the right call for a temporary surge in Afghanistan. He said the passage of health care reform would boost his grade to an A-. All in all, what would you give the President thus far on a grade scale?

The former junior senator from IL needs to read something besides his campaign literature.

  • G-man

To the victor goes the re-write of the his-story books.

Pretty soon it will be Kerry and Biden that were urging Bush to go into this “just” war.

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC, but I wanted to share this with all y’all.

    http://www.tranquilityimages.com/cams.shtml

Various Yosemite and Lee Vining area web cams, live feed. There are a few cams that are down, and the Tioga Pass cam seems to be stuck on Sat, 5 Dec. But kind of fun to scroll through during west coast daylight hours. Also, you can sometimes catch the moonrise on some of them.

Nice find, Joe! Saayy, you ARE good for something, aren’t you? :) (My present worth to this world is to be found in supporting the economy of Haiti via purchases of Barbancourt, btw. :) )

      • Joe in N. Calif

I am? News to me. Please don’t tell my wife.

      • juvat

        VX,
Have you tried Anniversario? It’s from a country on the northern part of South America that has a large Oil producing capability, but I’m reliably informed that it is made by Hugo hating capitalists.

      • Quartermaster

Someone has to support that poor country. They also aren’t taxed by the Hugo man either, like that other stuff is.

  • As far as the revisionist thing its to bad that the media doesn’t point out these rather obvious mistatements and ask the dancing bear (Gibbs) about them in the daily press briefing.

As for giving himself a B+ I really don’t care. It was a stupid setup question as no President is going to give a less than complimentary grade to themselves, especially this one.

I know what I’d grade him but no one’s asking.

    • virgil xenophon

Yeah, but once you past the letter “Z” on the way down, what kind of grade do you call it?

      • virgil xenophon

“you pass” How I need that preview feature!

      • Joe in N. Calif

Yeah, but once you past the letter “Z” on the way down, what kind of grade do you call it?

        Senator?

      • Mongo

on the way down, what kind of grade do you call it?

We’ll have to ask Nose for the official LSO grading of a guy who’s close aboard and eye-level with the ship’s name on the stern. WTF? comes to mind, but that’s just me.

Honestly, though, WunWhoWon’s into some serious hallucinogenics thinking he can revise our thinking, let alone our history. Are the folks truly so giddy over at the White House, that they’re completely unable to see how foolish they look to the rest…of the world?

  • Mike Myers

Well Barack Obama obviously never read a history book; if he read one, he didn’t understand it. Anymore than Joe Biden announcing that FDR made a national speech on television in 1929 to comfort people worried about the Great Depression.

So basically a lot of the “history” cited in anyone of the Great Drone’s speeches is revisionist.

The “bubbas” over at Powerline are split on the question
as to whether this revisionist history is the result of ignorance or of apathy–i.e. he’ll say any only smack, he doesn’t care. My answer is “both of the above”. Twirp!

  • vrgil xenophon

Yeah, Mike, just as with : “Charlatan or Buffoon?”
“Both and” always works better than “either-or” when sizing up the Omama-mao.

  • All those nations that contributed to Gulf I must feel so duped…not like they could be expected to make their own decisions or anything…

Still, the Bleat Brigade are so funny when they get all their high-pitched whiny voices going in unison… (yeah, I know, I should be more understanding…)
