Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

A little reminiscent of Evil Kenevil’s Snake River crossing attempt…
Ouch!
Makes Wile E. Coyote look like a Sooper Genius.
Ultralights can be complicated devices.
Kinda reminds me of the scene in Hatari where the guys launch the net over the tree of monkeys.
Ouch, that hurts….
Ouch is right…
What is the absolute worst possible moment for your chute to deploy? Oh yeah, that’s it.
No, the worst is 1/4 second after impact. Or any time after impact, really.
I don’t think he fully grasps the concept of an aborted take-off.
If he didn’t he does now!
Man that is really painful to watch. Almost looks to me like he was going with a hot doggin takeoff. That had to really hurt.
Darwinian.
Lawdy, that looks painful. Prolly din’t feel much after the initial ‘Thwack’. Meza no tryin’ that one…
Shouldn’t that read AIRBRAKE?
1) Unintentional deployment.
2) Shoulda had the hook knife at the ready…and great flexibility to turn and chop the offending “drag” while trying to continue egress from the earth bound status…
In other sports…sometimes the horizontal stabilizer got caught in the middle…much to the chagrin of the aircrew…and other jumpers not having exited. Thankfully never was in one myself. Seen some pics of pranged planes, some of which were successfully retunred to Earth in a normal manner with skill and determination.
Almost like he was thinkin’; Just about to VR, What’s this button do?
That’s going to leave a mark
That phrase “What’s this button/switch do? :click:” has to be right up there with “Hold my beer and watch this!”
Joe,
That would be in the category of “Last Words”.
