Geert Wilders finally gets his chance to speak in London.
The issue, as ever, is not whether you agree with what he has to say. It’s that he got to say it.

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

No more Mosques to be built? Stop Islamic immigration? Wow, that will never fly. But then, if it doesn’t, maybe it’s too late for separation of church and state.
A lone voice in the Wilder-ness.
Yes, he must be allowed to say it!
From what I gather, there are a lot of people in the UK that agree with his message. The major trouble is so much of what would be required to actually put legs on it is not politically acceptable to so many of those same people that agree. The simple result is nothing happens and the slide continues.
Once the flame of freedom dies in a people, it is very hard, if not impossible, to relight it. Historically, it’s never happened. Toynbee is good, if sad, reading on this issue.
He’s an interesting fellow. And as much as I agree with many of his points (and his ardent Zionist views!), I find it a tad scary – as a Jew and an American – that he is targeting a particular group of people as problematic. However, he’s got many valid points.
Going through his speech, one other statement struck me as quite accurate. Mr. Wilders said that “The left is facilitating islamization” and cultural relativism through the universities. We’ve got that here, too, most certainly. As a center-left liberal who attends a far-left liberal arts college, I can say, without a doubt, that the left (and academia – with the notable exception, it seems, of the natural sciences and economics, at least, in my experience), is certainly pushing a ridiculous agenda upon undergraduates. This agenda, at least, in my view, places security towards the bottom of our list of priorities, and “accepting cultural differences” (i.e. subjugation of women) – even when they’re fundamentally harmful towards the top.
Indeed. Much of Academia claims to be “enlightened”, yet I do not think that word means what THEY think it means.
Respects,
Much like Orwell’s newspeak it means what they want it to mean.
