The nightly closing of the India-Pakistan border.
They have nukes, you know.

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

LOL!
Better silly walks and Serious Facial Hair than our foolhardy Congress.
Reminds me of the “Fawlty Towers” episode of John Clease doing his totally out of hand hilarious goose-stepping Hitler imitation.@

@3:53 for Goose-step
The border closing “ceremony” along the truce line in Kashmir is sometimes a bit — ummmm — livelier.
Formal headgear is a bit sturdier and the shinies are left in the barracks.
Bally snipers, y’know…
That’s why we call it eccentric instead of… you know.
Good Lord, it’s an Indian-Pakistan Dance Off.
Wait ’til they discover the haka…

Liberace just called. He thought that performance was tacky.
Seriously, guys…. what the hell was that?
Imagine us doing this with Mounties and US Border Patrol at one of our several hundred crossings every night.
Yes, Lex… they have n00kz, and I am skeeered!
That was my thought – they both try to out-Brit the Brits. Pretty darned impressive, really.
And, are the uniforms really any sillier than, say, this:

or

Although it DID put me in mind of watching the mating displays some male birds put on to attract a mate.
Joe, that was exactly my first thought.
All I can say is WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT??? The idea they have Newks makes me feel like I just saw someone give the key to a brand new Porsche to some pimple faced 16 year old…Geez.
Loved the macho looks they gave each other. And that handshake at the end. Remember they both had British military trainers for a very very long time.
And reportedly loathed them. Now they emulate that which they cursed.
Peacocks come from this part of the world dont they?
That’s military tatoo for you, inn’t?
Been over to the sub-continent for an extended period and observed a lot of drama in evening activities. For me, this display shows more promise than what goes on in Korea, today, or Germany a cuppla decades ago.
And they still can play the bugle.
I attended a Navy aviation memorial ceremony yesterday where the bugle playing “Taps” was electric.
Thought it was kinda kool.
I can’t quite see ICE gettin’ into it though.
Veddy British, eh wot? Must maintain a good face on the frontiers, old chap.
Lex, I couldn’t help think what was going on in your mind when you typed that statement !!
This reminded me of something out of the frickin’ Wizard of Oz. That entire section “We Represent the Lollipop Guild” and the munchkins and the dancing and. Yeah. That’s what it reminded me of.
Oh, the lovely picture that engendered, Bou… ROFLMAO
i’ve seem this on micheal palen’s travel show. they do this very much as a show and both sides practice it together to get it right for the crowd. in the morning it is open the gates and business as usual.
Imagine what the Jackson family could have done to the routine!
[...] H/T- Lex [...]
A couple of those guys might find success as an NFL punter.
Exactly my thought. That was some impressive leg extension!
Man, they better hope that DADT doesn’t get repealed in THEIR armies. Can you imagine what those ceremonies would look like then?
There’d be a whole new pink feather boa supported Busby Berkeley performance there, for sure!
That’s what I was thinking!
I think I strained my knees just watching it.
Isn’t it obvious? We need to bring these fine fellows–and all their relatives–here. Diversity is our strength, after all.
ON the other hand, it beats what goes on at the Korean border. And what went on at Checkpoint Charlie. Ya know?
Years ago, when I still had cable TV, I watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of Jomo Kenyatta. The guards were wearing red coats and carrying Enfields.
First time I’ve seen retreat turned into a spectator sport.
Someone sent me pics about a month ago. They simply looked strange. The clip shows the festivities far better. Good ol’ British Square Bashing on steroids.
