Your Suitcase, Mr. President

If the results of this  CBS poll – admittedly informal and unscientific – are in any way accurate, it would perhaps be best if the president did not unpack.

Respondents judged the man rather more harshly than did your correspondent.

Which is really saying something.

To our detriment he came out “A” in the only poll that counted in November 2008. Here’s hoping he comes out as “B” on the next poll that counts in November 2012.

This SPEAKS VOLUMES – The overal rating shows that he needs to get his Chicago residence ready to be reoccupied in the next few years as he will no be staying longer than 4 years in WASH DC

    Obama’s Overall Job as President
    A:
    5.78%
    B:
    2.95%
    C:
    3.98%
    D:
    8.26%
    F:
    79.04%

I voted. Take a wild guess at my responses.
Somebody is asleep at the switch in DC.
The Obamatrons have not yet received marching orders to fill this poll with A+++++++++s.

    • Oh, but they did.

When the poll first came out in January, A+B+C = about 52% of the votes, with most of the remaining 48% at D. As the month went by, his ratings plummeted, as all the rest of us found the site. In mid-February, his A went from 20% to 6%, and his F shot ‘way past 60%.

The 5% who still want to have his baby will *always* be there, though.

Well let’s just say that I yield to no man in my disdain for Obama and his “FFF-orts”, but I cut him more slack than the respondents in this survey. Still, it should be “adios muchacho” for our New Messiah in 2012.

Here’s your hat, Mr President…whats your hurry? Best

And don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out…

I know, tired old rhetoric, but applicable here.

Anyone remember the shenanigans in the White House when the Clintons left office? Wonder what we can expect when the Chicago crowd leaves?

    Hello,
Even with the current level of unpopularity I think the current POTUS will end up with a second term. I qualify that statement based on a recent article by Steyn, I think it was, in NRO on Clement Atlee.

There is a strong possibility that with a second term the GOP will most likely have a 52-48 majority in the Senate.

Oh, just because it’s fun to prognosticate, if the current POTUS gets a second term it’ll be by a very narrow margin in the EC and popular vote. I’m thinking of a margin such as Nixon-Humphrey in 1968.

One other point – I don’t think the person who will be the GOP nominee in 2012 is yet known. It won’t be anyone from 2008; I’m leaning towards two from the Midwest.

And of course, YMMV. Mr. Lex, I sincerely hope you are still blogging in 2012, so I can look back and see how far off I was. :)

    thanks,

Damn shame that there was nothing lower than F

I did my duty. I did my “F-ing” best on the poll.

I wonder how many people have participated in this poll?

    • IIRC, by the end of the first week, it was under 3,000. They stopped posting the numbers after it hit 50,000 and Teh Won started slipping.

About the only response that surprised me was the question of Afghanistan, which I thought might have yielded a C or D. The question of Iraq’s status didn’t surprise me, and, truth be told, was right about where I expected it to be. What surprised me, overall, was the overwhelming grade average of the poll, mostly because we’re not seeing that sentiment expressed in the media.

Yeah, yeah…MSM…I know…MSM is in the tank with P.Bo’s White House. Still, to see this kind of poll and its results from CBS is a bit of a shock, given that CBS has not done much, IMO, to expose the subversive antics of the White House or Congress. Katie Darling has been so ga-ga over WunWhoWon that it’s sickening.

My own grading was, like a couple of you, a bit more lenient than the majority of respondents, which is surprising given my utter loathing of P.Bo. Maybe I’m becoming compassionate as the years go on…or soft in the head.

  • I was as harsh as the respondents to the survey, except on Afghanistan.

Those who say P.BO might be a 2-termer….please leave the building. ;-)

  • I agree with Phalanx on one single point – the 2012 GOP nominee will not be any of the goobers that ran in 2008. My bets are on:

    Tim Pawlenty
    Bobby Jindal
    Rick Perry
    Jim DeMint
    Haley Barbour
    Mark Sanford
    John Thune
    Paul Ryan
    Mike Pence

Not saying who I support/favor/plan to vote for just yet – I’ve not dug deep enough on any of them other than Ryan to have an opinion. Lots of people have bantied around General Petraeus’ name but through personal channels, it’s my understanding he has no desire to run in 2012.

Palin *might* be a VP nominee but I’m not holding my breath. I like her but I think she needs some polishing in a variety of areas.

    Ms. HomefrontSix,
Hello! That’s an interesting list for GOP 2012. I’m looking at two, Paul Ryan or Mitch Daniels. If the nominee was Mitch Daniels, with his business background, I could see Meg Whitman (California, former EBay CEO) would make a formidable team. For the 2012 GOP VP, I really don’t see Sarah Palin getting the nod. YMMV.

    thanks,

    Phalanx08
