Judicial Watch pulls the curtain back on the late senior senator from Massachusetts:
- “While Kennedy was in Santiago he made arrangements to ‘rent’ a brothel for an entire night. Kennedy allegedly invited one of the Embassy chauffeurs to participate in the night’s activities.”
- “[I]n each country Kennedy insisted on interviewing ‘the angry young men’ of the country. He wanted to meet with communists and others who had left-wing views. …Ambassador Freeman, Bogota, said the first person whom Kennedy wanted to meet was Lauchlin Currie.” (The document subsequently identifies Currie as a person who “had been mentioned in Washington investigations of Soviet spy rings.”)
- “[I]n Mexico Kennedy asked Ambassador Mann that certain left-wingers be invited to the Embassy residence where interviews could be held. Mann took the strong position that he would not invite such people and stated that if any such interviews were to be conducted, all arrangements should be made by Kennedy himself.”
Doug Ross has a great deal more:
In 1992, after the fall of the Soviet Union, KGB files revealed that Kennedy had twice approached Soviet leaders with proposals that would boost his political aspirations while undermining American national security.
In 1978 Kennedy reportedly used a go-between to establish a relationship with the KGB in order to sabotage President Jimmy Carter’s foreign policy efforts. Kennedy, of course, was interested in running against Carter in the 1980 primary.
Furthermore, Kennedy approached the Soviets with an offer to help undermine Ronald Reagan’s 1984 presidential reelection campaign. Kennedy proposed a public relations blitz and mentioned his friends — Walter Cronkite and Barbara Walters, by name — as willing to assist in the propaganda effort.
When RFK died, I first subscribed to a “nil nisi bonum” philosophy.
Farewell to all that.

And the Liberals get very exercised when you point out that they hate America…or, it’s just about them getting the control of the reins, so they can bypass the messy process of having to develop a debate and convince the voters your plan is the best.
Kennedy…Anti-American. Yeah, and he was really the one that gave us “No Child Left Behind,” that thing that now hurts our educational system. Make sure our students can’t compete…that’s a way to get us ahead as a nation, isn’t it?
Who is to say that lil’ ol Teddy wasn’t involved in seeing that he outlasted his brothers?
I harbor no illusions as to the lack of any redeeming qualities in that fat man. My only regret at his demise what that it didn’t happen sooner, and more painfully.
Leaving the eldest brother, Joseph (WWII pilot KIA), out of the equation and I would not take bets against it AW1.
Absolutely agree.
Of all the Kennedy brothers, the one that should have died first, died last- To our Nations detriment.
Teddy belongs in the line-up with BHO, Dodd, Murtha, Pelosi, Rangel and Reed.
Words (or at least ones polite enough for use here) fail me. Wish he was still alive so he could be tried for treason and then put in general pop in a Federal lockup.
Actually, the supermax would be better for him. No TV cameras, no interviews, everyone forgets he exists. Put up a running tally showing the last mention of him in the news. He’d go Ape after the first week of no mention.
I would give Teddy some props for discretion; if you’re going to rent a whorehouse for the night, rent it all so no one can see what you’ve been up to. But I can’t do that since the report says he invited one of the Embassy chauffeurs to participate in the frolic.
On the other hand, as far as I know, none of the brothel workers had to swim for their lives that night.
Teddy was a man with a wholly unjustified good opinion of himself.
Traitor, whore monger, self-aggrandizing, hypocrite, and murderer. So much like his old man, it’s sickening. There’s a special place in Hell reserved for the SOB, and it’ll be amongst the likes of Ted Bundy, Tim McVeigh, Saddam Hussein, et al. Notwithstanding the shortcomings of his brothers, I believe they died reasonably honorable men. Teddy? Not even close.
If there’s any justice, Teddy will spend eternity in a submerged Oldsmobile, clawing at the roof and gasping at the few inches of air trapped therein.
Hell fire will be infintely worse that that.
Oh, BTW, we knew about his efforts to cooperate with the Sovs BEFORE he died. Our MBM (make-believe-media) ensured that never made the top of the news hour.
Speaks volumes for the prostitutes who rever to themselves as reporters.
Consider yourself lucky. I was just about to take a drink when I read that, and would have snorted it all over the keyboard and monitor.
meant refer… helps to type with the reading glasses on….
Works either way.
Since they did revere the man.
MBM–LOL butch! I’ve also heard “Dreamstream”–DSM–which I also like. And SO true about the TOTAL SILENCE of the national “traditional” media about Kennedy’s traitorous activities. Were that your suggestions for his treatment in the hereafter not only taken under advise by the guy in charge down below, but that we additionally be allowed a link on the innertubes to observe his constant struggles at our leisure. In his case I MOST CERTAINLY do NOT consider it EITHER a venal OR mortal sin (depending upon one’s faith and predilections) to gloat or glory in the travails of others!
VX, I can’t take credit for MBM. A guy named Ace coined it: http://www.ace.mu.nu.
Heck, I’d pay to watch Teddy’s travails in the afterlife, and curl up with a big buttery bowl of popcorn. That’s entertainment!
Ok, Babs, Walt, whatabout it? Babs??…Walt??…
Teddy, we hardly knew ya.
Unfortunately, Mary Jo Kopechne did know him.
I guess in the opinion of some, there is little difference between Mary Jo, and the fairer sex employees of that Latin American bordello. Disposable and inconsequential. Privileged, progressive egalitarianism truly does suck.
I’m shocked SHOCKED that any Democratic politician, especially a Kennedy, could be involved in anything like what was alleged above. We all know that only those Bible thumping conservatives ever stray from the path.
Of course, one needs some sort of path before one can stray from it.
Well, anecdotal, but I have no reason to doubt it-met a Doctor at a party who was conducting cancer research-specifically brain cancer, and he told me that during the course of looking for support for his efforts he thought to contact the fine Senator’s office. Through a series of conversations with the Senator’s staff he was told that in order to obtain an audience with the Senator he needed to deposit $200K in the appropriate bank account. The Doc took a pass.
At first I was incredulous that it would be that blatant, but hell, the Senator never was held accountable for anything in his worthless life, why not continue the shake down even as you are dying? Traitorous bastard. Forgive me Lord, but I am glad he is gone.
And I’m sure, buried in the tax code somewhere, was an out for him on paying taxes for that bribery. Oh, how I hate it when the Dems pretend only Republicans are rich, with Teddy and jfk (lower case – “Small” on purpose) are around (or were as the case may be…along with Pelosi and Feinstein
That man did some damage over the years, and now this! Having once lived in the land of annointed American royalty, I wonder how deep this is going down in MA. MA requires(d?) a college course on the MA state constitution – which somehow was often about the Kennedys. Like other 3rd world strongmen, you mustn’t mention how they might be crook’d lest the faithful hear. I won’t be happy till Kennedys cease winning elections based on name, guilt by association be damned.
There are no Kennedys holding office now. And they all said ….
There’s one that keeps popping up here in Maryland.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Kennedy_Townsend
I hope we’re done…
It’s been awhile for her. Perhaps she’s finished. We can, indeed, hope.
Teddy lived about 41 years too long. He should have died with Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969.
Where’s the outrage from the loyal opposition? Is there no one from the liberal side of the aisle to defend Teddy? I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you!
If it materializes, said outrage will likely be of the “tu cocque” variety: “Oh, well, did you hear about what [insert Rep scumbag] did?…”
As if scumbaggery has a polarity, and it can cancel out if there are equal amounts of each type, or something.
Rich fat princeling trying to play wannabe subversive in order to assuage his internal guilt for his gold-plated lifestyle, of which he was correctly certain he did not deserve.
It’s just astounding the depths to which liberal guilt can drive people, in the attempt to prove their ‘worth’ on the humanist scale.
Byron, there are some sorts of carrion that would even gag a vulture. Don’t think any defenders of the fat man will be hopping by.
What? A Kennedy working against the best interests of America? I’m shocked! Shocked that this is seeing the light of day. Why the next thing you know the Kennedy clan will start being held accountable for the murders they’ve committed over the years. It was surprising when the distant cousin finally got caught for killing Martha Moxley.
I stumbles across this Life spread of the Kennedys before they had done much damage.
I was only a youngster, but I still remember the LIFE cover of Teddy standing in a psyio-therapy swimming pool, wearing a neck brace, recovering from his injuries after the accident in which MJK was killed. It was the beginning of my revulsion with media whores and their Democrat clientelle that has lasted my entire life.
Ho Hum…I still want to know what happened at Chappaquiddick and Mary Jo’s fatal lapse of judgment!
Hm. Let’s say that I’m an American Senator on the Foreign Relations Committee. I travel to a foreign country. I am sure to get the official version from the local government on the conditions of the country and how everyone is happy with the present administration, etc. I can see where I might want to talk to the opposition to get their viewpoint, and I can see where I might want to talk to them in a secure location where I can be sure that the local administration can’t overhear what’s being said. And finally, I can see where the American Ambassador, who works with the local government, might not want to piss off the people he deals with day in and day out by arranging such.
Now, I’m not necessarily going to have a photo op with them or praise them to the skies. So while Ted’s motives can legitimately be questioned (and that would be better informed by what he said or did during and after such meetings) the bare fact that he asked to have such meetings is to my mind insufficient to attribute base motives to him.
“…the bare fact that he asked to have such meetings is to my mind insufficient to attribute base motives to him.”
I guess that bordello buyout was just Unca’ Teddy consulting with the local ‘horizontal dictionaries,’ then?
+1 on the laffometer.
Has Judicial Watch developed a large reputation and select cadre of allegiance in the over development of our recent past by tainting up what passes as fact to fit the cherished point of view of it’s principal benefactor?
I can read from the comments that many of you should like to join “The Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Services Society” It’s easy, you buy some spirits, (beer, wine or stronger), and on the anniversary of the person’s death go to where they are buried and the take a sip or two as you contemplate this person’s life before pouring some over the grave. (It helps if you strain it through your kidneys first). You are there, afterall, to celebrate their death.
Think of Dorothy and the Munchkins singing and dancing over the green spot left by the wicked witch, only the signing or dancing aren’t required.
I’m pretty sure that it’s a Persian tradition where, after a person dies, everyone gets together and bad mouths the deceased. This prevents any sort of hagiography from being built up about him or her. I have absolutely nothing good to say about him; the man was an absolute pig. I hope he has been condemned to the group of people spending their eternity in hell “adjectival omission” on Satan’s barbed “noun.”
Dang! There’s another grave I’ll need to piss on! That makes four.
(The other three are Bill Sherman, Bruno Bettelheim, and Emmanuel Celler.)
I would not, of course, be so vulgar as to unzip and irrigate in public. For General Sherman, say, I would just add my votive offering to the others at his grave. Mine would be an old-fashioned glass specimen jar with a sprig of poison ivy in it, filled after having eaten lots of asparagus
Within “The Society” that’s called “Pre-peeing”. It really began when some men and boys thought it unseemly their women be seen squating over the grave.
Lately it’s because so many members use walkers and wheel chairs.
Entropy……
it is the thought that counts afterall.
Kind of makes the Dems cutting funds for the South Viets the fall of Saigon an interesting subject for more FOIA. Jimmy Carter, it could have been worse.
Oh, Sir! Don’t get me started on that one! As Jerry Pournelle has said, after the expenditure of revoltingly huge amounts of blood and treasure doing things wrongly and badly, we just about had it won, anyway, only to throw it all away and betray an ally. As Dr. Jerry had one of his characters say in one of his novels (I’m paraphrasing here) “Individuals are occasionably honorable; governments, hardly ever.”
“Given the unenviable choice between betraying my country or betraying a friend, I should hope I would have the decency to betray my country.”
