Better check what it’s wired to:
U.S. intelligence agencies concluded in a classified report late last year that Russia’s military intelligence was responsible for a bomb blast that occurred at an exterior wall of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, in September.
The highly classified report about the Sept. 22 incident was described to The Washington Times by two U.S. officials who have read it. They said the report supports the findings of the Georgian Interior Ministry, which traced the bombing to a Russian military intelligence officer.
The Times reported last week that Shota Utiashvili, director of information and analysis for the Georgian Interior Ministry, said the embassy blast and others in his country were the work of a Russian military intelligence officer named Maj. Yevgeny Borisov.
“It is written without hedges, and it confirms the Georgian account,” said one U.S. official familiar with the U.S. intelligence report.
This official added that it specifically says the Russian military intelligence, or GRU, coordinated the bombings.
Meet the new GRU. Same as the old one.
There were no injuries in last year’s bombing, and Moscow is on the record to deny the charges.

Borisov! Is that bastard still around? Damn.
I thought I got him in Istanbul, but apparently not.
The old GRU was much more into collection of intel, not sabotage. The KGB was the provocateur and agitprop agency. For the GRU to be involved is something new.
A good overview, with the added benefit of explaining why Stalin was surprised 22 June 1941 is in The Sword and the Shield: The Mitrokhin Archive and the Secret History of the KGB
by Christopher Andrew and Vasili Mitrokhin.
For the GRU, the most approachable book is Viktor Suvorov’s Aquarium.
Glantz wrote a book on the GRU in WWII.
Reset back to 1947.
yeah, we’re back to 1947 with the same economic situation that was in place then…..and far too many unemployed veterans…but I will take the cars from that era into the early 1970′s over the crap they sell you now.
It’s a great pity that Georgia country look for different means to emboil RF and USA in quarrel.
Andrei, why exactly do you believe it is in Georgia’s self interest to embroil ANYONE with Russia?
‘Cause after Georgian-Russian conflict in North Ossetia (08.08.08) Georgia wait for your help. If you’ll think that it’s Russian who made that bomb blast you’ll give Georgia more weapon for next attempt to occupy North Ossetia. It’s only my opinion, but who knows. I don’t see any logic reason for my government to do it.
Russians were Russians long before they were Soviets. National character, don’t you know.
I find it hard to believe. The Russian “state” is too busy pumping hydrocarbons, money and offspring to the West.
