Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

PC is just part of cultural Marxism, and no Military Officer had any business doing what he did. It would be different if a Trooper/Sailor/Airman/Marine were sporting a bumper sticker calling Obama a moron, or some such, but the civilian employees are under no such restraint.
Good decision on the part of the judge.
Before anyone brings it up, sporting a bumper sticker damning the end of DADT on the part of a member of the military would not fall under such a head because it is now a matter of law and certain strictures would apply because of the nature of the case. Once more, the civilian would employees be under no such restriction.
It is my opinion that Lt. Col. James Hessen has violated his oath and should remove himself.
Paul
Too much concern with the actions of others by a small minded officer who wanted to control others for his own personal satisfaction….His petulance is now onthe record for all to see.
I would feel an apology is in order to the parents….I lost a shipmate on the USS Cole and their pain must be overwhelming. Glad the judge got it right.
Freedom- 1, Political Correctness- 0.
A good win, and hopefully one that will NOT be appealed, and will signal the beginning of the turning of the tide against the cultural blight imposed by the PC zampolits, including the entire “diversity” industry.
Only in this 1 battle. PC is way ahead on the big score card.
A very interesting opinion to read:
http://video.onset.freedom.com/jdn/l07aj6-nietodecisionofjudgehoward3312010.pdf
is one place to find the entire document.
Hafta to notice this is a MAR 2010 document – but OK to celebrate a victory anytime.
Did these USMC officers really believe what they said in court? Or were they deliberately handing a victory to Neito by appearing to be soooo stoopid? I just don’t know.
The decision is narrowly focused on one specific base regulation – wonder if USMC simply gave up/out, or developed a legal work-around? Does anyone have current info from NC ??
Wow. Not just interesting. Add very well-written & clearly-reasoned as well.
BZ to Mr Nieto for pursuing the protection of his rights and to the Honorable Malcom J. Howard for being a voice of reason.
Officials said Nieto would be back on the base, with his vehicle and its messages, within a few days.
I bet there were a few additions.
I wouldn’t take that bet. That would fall under the head of “fool’s bet.”
As Rob says at 3:22, “If only there was an organization that was sworn to defend that free speech.”

Where can I get those stickers?
Beautiful. I think we are waaay to sensitive to the feelings of the opressor…
Try to get the NOW crowd to worry about women’s issues in Egypt for instance…
I really don;t give a flying fig for the opinions or feelings of those who would oppress or kill me.
Come git some.
